Is there a Swahili word for a marriage of two people - like couple in English?

    mimi ni Mjerumani. Najitahidi kujifunza Kiswahili.

    Swali langu: Je, kuna neno katika lugha ya Kiswahili linalotumiwa kuonyesha kwamba wanaarusi wawili walifunga ndoa yao, kama neno la "couple" katika lugha ya Kingereza?

    Kuna neno tofauti kwa ndoa ya Kikristo ya mtu mmoja na mke mmoja? Au ni neno lilelile kwa ndoa za wake wengi za Waislamu?

    Au neno la ndoa au arusi zinaruhusu ndoa za wake wa kila namba?

    karibu katika lugha yetu hii adhimu ya kiswahili!,
    vema; kuhusu couple marriage kwa kiswahili ni "mitara" kwa maana ya ndoa ya mwanamme na wanawake zaidi ya wawili.lakini
    Kwa mujibu wa sheria ya ndoa ya mwaka 1971; "Ndoa ni muunganiko wa hiari baina ya mwanaume na mwanamke unaokusudiwa kuishi muda wote wa maisha yote" hapa hawajataja kuwa mwanaume na wanawake. japo hata kama ni zaidi ya mke mmoja sheria inasema ni lazima muunganiko huo uwe wa hiari kwa maana ya kuwa wote wawili waridhiane kuwa pamoja.
    Na kuhusu neno ndoa kama linamaanisha wake wengi au mmoja sina hakika na hilo

    labda kama kuna mtu mwingine mwenye uelewa tofauti atusaidie.

    Mitala ni ndoa zaidi ya mke mmoja, ikimaanisha Mume mmoja mwenye wake zaidi ya mmoja.

    Kwanza niseme kwamba kwa uelewa wangu neno sahihi ni "mitala" na sio "mitara" kumaanisha neno la kiingereza "poligyny" yaani ndoa ya mume 1 na wake zaidi ya 1. Kwa hiyo ndoa ya kiislamu ya mke zaidi ya mmoja inaitwa "ndoa ya mitala". Sheria ya Tanzania haitambui ndoa za mitala zinazowahusisha mke 1 na wanaume wengi, yaani "poliandry" kwa kiingereza. Hizi ni utamaduni wa India!

    Kuhusu neno "couple" sidhani kama kuna kiswahili chake cha tofauti na "wapenzi wawili" au kwa kifupi "wapenzi". Unaweza pia kutumia neno "wanandoa" kama tayari wamekwisha oana hasa kwa kuwa muuliza swali amesisitiza kuwa "wanaharusi wawaili walifunga ndoa" akimaanisha kuwa ni watu waliooana tayari.

    Neno "ndoa" kwa sheria za Tanzania lina maanisha ya mke mmoja au wengi. Hii ni kwa kuwa sheria hiyo ya 1971 inaruhusu ndoa za aina 3. i.e. ndoa ya mume 1, mke 1 au mume 1, wake wengi. Hizi ni za kiristu (mke 1), za kiislamu (wake wengi) na za kimila (wake wengi). Tena inatumia maneno "potentially poligamous" inapozungumzia ndoa za kiislamu na za kimila.

    <br><br>Nashukuru, huenda pengine ni <strong>mitala, </strong>labda tunaweza kurejea katika kamusi ya kiswahili sanifu kama ni neno lipi ni sahihi.

    Nashukuru, huenda uko sahihi lakini nilirejea katika kamusi ya kiswahili na limeandikwa mitara, tusaidiane kama lipi ni sahihi au yote yanatumika

    neno litumikalo kwa kumaanisha couple ni MAHARUSI lakini hili hutumika zaidi siku ile ya harusi , wengine watasema kuwa maharusi ni wingi wa neno harusi,neno harusi halina wingi ,kwani 1 harusi = 100 harusi.

    Maana ya kuoana ni "to become one pair" kama vile ukichukuwa kiatu cha raba na cha ngozi havioani, ili vioane inabidi viwe aina moja na namba moja na kimoja cha kushoto na kingine cha kulia. Kuoa ni kuikamilisha "pair" au mmekuwa Jozi.

    Jozi ni "pair". Mara nyingi nimekuwa nikitumia neno Gozi nikimuelezea mume wangu, nna uhakika wengi humu JF hawaelewi kuwa Gozi ni Jozi yaani pair lakini kwa lafdhi ya ki Misri "Egyption accent".

    Jozi ni neno la kiswahili linalomaanisha "pair" lililotokana na kiarabu linalotamkwa "jowzi" kwa nchi nyingi zinazoongea kiarabu na zingine kama Misri, Algeria na baadhi ya sehem za Sudan hutamka Gowzi au Gozi.

    Hey guten tag, kama wadau walivyosema hapo juu, neno linalofaa kwa "couple" ni wanandoa kama wameoana.Kama bado bado wako kwenye uchumba wanaitwa wachumba.

    Mila yetu hairuhusu boyfriend and girlfriend relationship so kama sio wachumba na sio wanandoa sielewi wanaitwaje.

    Jamani, tukumbuke pia kwamba neno "couple" halimaanishi watu waliooana pekee, bali linamaanisha pia watu wanaopendana na kuishi pamoja. Kwa maana kwamba, siyo lazima kuwepo na ndoa; ya kanisani, msikitini au ile ya msajili.

    Ni vizuri umetumia neno "kuishi pamoja". Kuishi pamoja katika mazingira fulani fulani kunatosha kuanzisha / kuitwa "ndoa". Sio lazima kuenda kwa msajili, kanisani au msikitini. Hii ya kuchukuana tu ipo sana siku hizi na sheria ya ndoa inaitambua. Inaitwa "ndoa dhahania".
