Is Aid to Africa working?

I don't believe foreign aid is Africa's problem. If allocated probably, invested wisely aid money could make a difference for the better. It is also wishful thinking to believe if aid is stopped today, it would force Africans to become independent. If anything stopping foreign aid would push more people into starvation, poverty, conflicts etc.

The more important question to ask is how come a country like Iceland with little to no natural resources can become so successful economically while most African countries with abundance of natural resources, tourist attractions are among the poorest in the world?
