HYDERABAD: A college student hailing from Tanzania died in a road accident near Ghatkesar on Sunday night (today).

The victim, Nickson Elinwema, 20, was a B Com Ist year student of R K Degree College in Himayatnagar. He came to India in 2010 on a student visa and was living in a flat in Nacharam.

According to Ghatkesar police, Nickson along with his friends consumed alcohol at a bar in Sainikpuri on Saturday night. Nickson then accompanied his friends to their flat in Ramanthapur. At about 1.30 am, without waking up his friends, Nickson got up and took out a scooter to return home.

At Uppal crossroads, Nickson lost his way and called his friends. "They told him that they would come to the spot and asked him not to leave. But Nickson took a U-turn towards Uppal at Narapally and lost control over the vehicle and rammed it into a road divider," Ghatkesar SI R Ravi said.

His friends reached the spot and with the help of police rushed Nickson, who suffered head injuries to Gandhi Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

This is food for thought!
