Tukirudi nyuma unakumbuka baada ya world trading center kulipuliwa, jaribu kukumbuka statement ya Bush “EITHER YOU ARE WITH US OR AGAINST US”Kilichofuata ni uvamizi Iraq na Afghanistan na sheria ya ugaidi kulazimishwa katika nchi za kiafrika.

We are afrikan, i cannot sleep comfortably in my bed and i know very well my neighbour is sleeping hungry, its not us and never been us.

our value ,morals and ethics need to ingrained within us.we dont need no democracy because it creates individualism. what we need is a framework that will bring development and raise our standard of living. Then, may be, i repeat may be we can think about democracy

Umenena. I remember growing up in early 60's, during the time that the wind of political independence was sweeping accross Africa. Most of African leaders, writers and intellectuals at that time emphasized on the need to reclaim our lost dignity as Africans. We learnt at school to walk with our heads raised high. That all human beings are born equal, etc. There was a concerted effort to imbue the youth with a sense of African pride.

Unfortunately, this is now history as Africa has degenerated to a sorry state, where worshiping our former colonisers has become the order of the day. Waafrica wa leo tumepoteza mwelekeo, period. Unless this trend is reversed we are in for the recolonisation of the continent, and we have ourselves to blame. Mark my words!

For staters unachanganya mambo, defintion yako ya demokrasia unachanganya na;
  • politics,
  • economic policies
  • good governance
  • democracy.
The four are linked but require a different approach in getting the best out of their purposes. The western intervention outside their borders is not much to do with democracry but rather their foreign policies and protecting their economic interest. The only, goodwill that comes from the west is in the form of charities but never from direct government policies.

When you speak of democracy, the first thing to consider is the 'bill of right' and how much freedom individuals have in that society, such as protesting, unbiased laws and so forth in relation to the protection of an individuals' rights without fear of the authority or persecution.

Politics is much to do with political parties vying for the chance to govern the society through a model that they think is best suited moving forward; and we vote through those promises that is an act of democracy (sasa kama utaenda kumchagua mmbunge mganga hapo sijui unatarajia nini au akuwakilishe vipi na kukupigania vipi au pengine hata kama hizo haki zako kikatiba anazijua in the first place) si ajabu kila kitu shaghala baghala in TZ.

In Tanzania political parties have yet to develope since the independence, that is having their own thought answers to many of our social problems and aim at tackling them on our own and using our own means. We are still dependent on outside guidance, as a result the main political theme is corruption and the impact of it in our society (that is not the politics of policies and it reflects upon us the way we tend to admire politicians who are vocal when it comes to anti-ufisadi) even though those politicians do not propose an alternative approach to most of our problems including tackling ufisadi they so claim to dislike.

In other words we have yet to reach a political level that aims at looking politics in a sense of getting us out of poverty, and this where the politics of economic policies arise.

Good governance that has much to do with the constitution guidance, funny enough most of the necessary guidelines and limitations are mentioned in our own constitution its just that are not respected in the first places.

Therefore basically your querry should be more concerned on the respect of our constitution rather than the democractic rights of the society (because most of those rights are mentioned in the constitution though not respected at all) meaning our politics is still way behind in the context of the western achievement.

well said, look at the western media they branded gaddafi different names....to western media they alwz follow the stupidit of their government
