How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone:

* # 0 6 #

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. when your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.

You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either.

If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

Soma tena ujumbe. Kitu unachotakiwa ni kujua IMEI number ya simu yako na kuihifadhi. Iwapo simu yako itaibiwa, wape hiyo IMEI number yako service providers, na wao wata block hiyo simu haitaweza kupiga wala kupokea.
 
The provider wont lock your phone without a police report. And getting a police report in TZ is a mission.

...:D Kitia, ubaya wa tekinolojia ni kwamba hutaweza tumia hiyo handset kwa service providers wa nchi husika,

kwa mfano; Uki report handset yako imeibiwa hapa UK, kampuni waki disable handset kwa hiyo IMEI, haitaweza kufanya kazi tena hapa UK hata utumie simcard ya Vodafone, O2, Orange, Tmobile, etc etc... lakini handset hiyo hiyo ukitua Dubai, Doha, Jomo Kenyatta au KIA (njiani kurudi Dar-es-salaam) itafanya kazi kama kawaida!

Handset nyingi zinazouzwa Dar, Zanzibar na Tanzania zinazotoka UK utakuta zina logo za makampuni hayo ya simu, na zinatwanga kazi kama kawaida, sema ukija nazo zilipokuwa disabled ndio kimeo!
 
Iyo gurdian inapatikana dezo ? au wanadai njenje au tunaweza kubaka kwenye torents sites ?
 
.......good lakini tatizo hapa wataalamu wa IT mpe wengi kama ilivyo kwenye swala la Virus na Antivirus. Kunawatu watablock hiyo simu na wengine wanaunlock iendelee kutwanga mzigo. Sasa haina maana kama unablock simu UK lakini mtu akitoka nayo nje ya UK inafanyakazi kama kawaida. Haya kazi kwenu.
 
Guardian inafanya kazi bila ya kumjulisha mwizi wako. Inatuma msg kwenye namba ambayo umeweka katika hiyo prgram. Ikionyesha nambari ya simu ya mwizi wako na eneo alilopo. Kila anapo zima simu na kuwasha guardian inatuma msg na ile program yenyewe inakuwa hainekani icon yake kwa hiyo sirahisi mwizi kuelewa kama anafuatiwa. Na wala haiblock chochote kwa hiyo mwizi anajihisi yuko salama kumbe tayari anafuatiliwa. Kuna simu iliibiwa ambayo ilikuwa na guardian, simu hiyo ilipatikana, mwizi baada ya kutupa laini iliyokuwemo na kuweka ya kwake namba yake ilipatiwa kwenye namba ya rafiki yake ambayo aliiweka kwenye guardian, namba hiyo tuliichukuwa tukaileka polisi akapigiwa simu anahitajika polisi muhusika alifika polisi akiwa na simu nyengine.Akaambiwa tuletee simu ambayo ulitumia na namba hii akabisha akawekwa ndani mwishowe akakubali anayo na akaileta.
 
Guardian ni bure,kwa yoyote anaehitaji pm taja aina ya simu umayotumia. Simu za kichina haziwezi.

Mimi nitafanyaje nimeibiwa PDAL window mobile wiki hii maeneo ya kinondoni, unaweza kunisaidiaje ? Imei no yake sina ila kuna code number ndo ninayo.

hiyo huwezi kupata tena hata ungelikuwa na imei pia huwezi ipata. kama ungelikuwa ume install guardian, ulikuwa tayari unaelewa nani anayo.

...:D labda ana maana his 6th sense...!!! GarageRules, nakushauri uwe umeikariri namba yako kichwani, kama upo kwenye daladala, hapo hapo unaomba kilonga longa cha jirani kisha unaitwanga simu yako... si ajabu utaisikia inaita hata kama tayari mtu keshaiswinda kwenye nyeti zake!

Muhimu ukiwa outdoors don't mute kilonga longa chako, wala kuweka Vibration mode, unless (hiyo Vibration) itakuwa ina nguvu mpaka huyo kibaka ashindwe kujizuia kwa "mtekenyo"...:)
