How safe is Dar?

    be specific my friend. what is it that you need to know? drinking tap water in Dar is not safe... is that enough?

    masaki safe oysterbay safe mikocheni semi safe...the rest bahati na sibu...majambazi wakiamua kukufuata maeneo mengine wewe sali tuu..takes 2-4hrs for police to arrive at a crime scene in mbezi beach..sasa i can only imagine kimara etc

    unless u live near a police station, police camp, army camp...its hard to define safe.

    Usalama ni wewe mwenyewe, kama unataka kuwa safe sehemu yoyote duniani you should keep your profile very low. Na zaidi ya hapo kuwa mjinga ila akili mkichwa. Hivi ndivyo wajanja hutoboa popote pale. Penda kusoma watu, sio ubishooo.

    Vibaka wa hapa na pale hawakosekani!

    Crime cases in Dar is lower than Nairobi or J'burg!

    Dar bado iko safe sana wala usiwe na wasiwasi. Sura za watu ni zilezile za kiurafiki. Zipo sehemu ambazo sio nzuri na sitegemei mtu wa kutoka nje iwapo atakwenda sehemu hizo. Ni tofauti sana na Nairobi kiusalama. It is safe usiwe na khofu.

    Acheni kumdanganya mwenzenu....dar is not safe kwa kila kitu toka afya,usalama bara barani mpaka.......hamna safe yoyote watu roho mbaya.....

    Do you really mean that? or you mean residents are more informed of most dangerous areas and so alt least they can avoid them than new comers?? I thing at corporate level, Dar might be safe but at individual level probably not.

    Sehemu yoyote especially nchi unayotaka kwenda au unaenda inabidi uwe mwangalifu kwasababu hupajui vizuri kwahiyo ni vema kujihami kiusalama zaidi.

    Dar es salaam ukienda uwe na mwenyeji wako unaemfahau! Vibaka wa hapa na pale hawakosi inategemea na unapotembelea.

    Dar hapafai. Nadhani njaa nyingi. Juzijuzi nilipata janga la kuporwa na vibaka wenye mapanga mapema ya saa moja jioni. Nilipoenda kituo cha polisi nikaambiwa hawakuwa na umeme hivyo niende asubuhi yake. Cha ajabu walisema, tena hata bila wasiwasi, kuwa hawakuwa na mafuta kwa ajili ya kufanya msako. Halafu askari mmoja wa kike akawa ananishangaa kwa kurudi Bongo. Akanishauri nirudi na niombe uraia wa hukohuko majuu! Hayo si hadithi. Yamenitokea. Nipo majuu kwa sasa lakini nitarudi ila nikirudi nitakuwa mwangalifu mno maadam sasa najua hakuna polisi wala mgambo wala serikali for that matter.

    Nakushauri uwe mwangalifu sana ndugu yangu. Hali halisi ndiyo hiyo.

    Kwa maoni yangu Dar sio safe kama ilivyo Nairobi na hata J'burg. Tofauti ni kuwa habari nyingi zinazotekea Dar haziripotiwi, tofauti na hizi sehemu nyingine. Kingine pia na taaluma wanayoitumia wahalifu wa Dar iko chini kulinganisha na hii miji mingine. Kibaya zaidi Dar kupata msaada wa polisi ni taabu, wakati J'burg msaada wa polisi upo karibu. Ila mara nyingi wakisha kuwahi kule wanapotea kama upepo, wakati hapa Dar wahalifu wanaweza kuamua kufunga mtaa na kuanza kupora duka moja hadi jingine mpaka watakaporidhika.
    Dar sio safe, ukiamua kuja jitahidi ujiweke kawaida kwa kadri utakavyoweza ili usiwashawishi kuwa wanaweza kuvuna kwako.

    mmmmh nairobi ukishuka kwa akamba tu chukua taxi hapo hapo la sivyo utalijua jiji. ila dar unaweza hata ukajisogeza kutafuta daladala au hata kushanga shangaa stendi kidogo.
