I tend to agree with almost all that Lee is suggesting except for the Internatinal destinations I would suggest ATCL should only venture internationally after consolidating the domestic market. The government should know that the main problem facing ATCL is not the inadequate capital injection by the shareholder but also the lack of managerial capacity to run the Airline. Yuo can pump as much money as you wish, but with the current management you will never succeed; this is an undisputable fact which the powers that be must accept!!

Ningeomba wahusika waje kwanza mtoni na waangalie business model ya Southwest Airlines.
 
Nakubaliana kwa kiasi kikubwa na haya yote; lakini kwanza ningeona serikali iuze hisa za ATCL kwa Watanzania au mashirika ya kitanzania ili iendeshwe kibiashara na umiliki uwe mikononi mwa watu wanaojali faida inayotokana na huduma nzuri.

Hapo umesema la maana. Hawa Southwest Airlines ndio wakongwe/waanzilishi wa huduma za anga kwa bei nafuu. Makampuni makubwa mengine ambayo yameiga business model ya hawa SWA ni Easy Jet ya UK, Ryan Air ya Ireland n.k.

Pendekezo langu ni kwa serekali kuvunja bodi ya ATCL ya sasa, teua bodi mpya, na kabla hawajaanza shughuli yoyote bodi mpya iweze kuja na business plan madhubuti. Kwenda mbele tutaweza judge mafanikio ya hii bodi kutokana na jinsi watakavyo deliver hiyo business plan.
 
Nami naafiki wazo la hapo juu ni zuri na ukute wana business plan nzuri ila wamekalia chukua twende hakina mwenyewe...maana mataka anarekebisha makosa aliyofanya b4...aibe akitoka anataka ubunge kilosa....

Mwanakijiji ili kuwauzia hisa wadanganyika ni lazima shirika liwe economically viable!! Wananchi walinunua shares za TOL mpaka sasa hawajafaidika hata chembe! Wazo lako ni zuri , kwanza serikali iliimarishe shirika kama vile ng'ombe unamnenepesha kwanza ndio unamchinja ndio unapata nyama nyingi.!!

hizo dash8 zao je zina uwezo wa kuhimili mazingira yetu haya?yani viwanja vyetu vya vumbi na changarawe?ikumbukwe kwamba ziliwahi kuletwa maramoja hapo kabla,na zikaproove failure,kwenye haya maviwanja yetu,p
2:set up ya ofisi yao yaani derpatments zote,na watu wenyewe iko modenized kiasi gani?hapa tunaangalia suala kiufundi zaidi,yaani,kuanzia wataalamu wa billing,pale revenue accounts,wapo skilled kiasi gani,naje wanayo hio billing section?wanawatu wa revenue management(yield management)?na wapo skilled kiasi gani?

ATCL inahitaji kuwa overhaul kabisa na kujengwa upya. Management ya ATCL iliyopo sasa hivi haiwezi kuleta tija katika biashara hii ya anga kwa wakati huu tulionao. Uwezo wao wa kiutawala na kiuendeshaji katika aviation industry umekuwa ni mdogo ama dhaifu kulikoni mahitaji ya wakati. Aidha, muundo wa management haukujipanga kukidhi haja ya vision and mission ya ATCL as well as strategies. Kampuni inakosa uwezo wa kugenerate reliable information and facts za kuweza kuja na a viable and sound business development plans. Zaidi ya hapo, products za ATCL ambazo zinaingizwa sokoni na zile ambazo tayari ziko katika soko hazikutafitiwa kwa kiwango cha kutosha cha kuweza kuziweka products katika hali ya ushindani na vilevile kuiletea kampuni faida. Kana kwamba haitoshi equipment utilization haioneshi usahihi wa kutumika katika kiwangi ambacho kinaridhisha kwa maana kulinganisha na mapato dhidi ya soko.
Inawezekana kabisa leo hii ukitaka kujua beak-even ya route kama ya Dar - Mwanza per equipment sijui kama inaweza kupatikana ikiwa ni sahihi.
In short, nobody knows what's going on katika kampuni japo kuwa wakuu wako busy na wanakwenda kazini kila leo. Udhaifu huu katika management hauwezi kurekebishwa kwa kuwaacha wahusika waendelee kubahatisha, la hasha mikakati ya kweli lazima ifanyike. Biashara ya usafiri wa anga siyo lelema, ni biashara ngumu inayohitaji umakini wa hali ya juu katika uendeshaji wake. Kila siku ninaamini kuwa pale ambapo tumeona kuna matatizo basi hatujachelewa, turekebishe leo kwani hali ya ATCL iliyokuwa nayo jana ni nafuu zaid kuliko ya leo, kwa maan inaendelea kupata hasara zaidi na zaidi na vilevile kupoteza imani kutoka kwa wateja na wadau wengine.

Ninaendelea kushauri kama ambavyo nilifanya huko nyuma kuwa:

1) ATCL ingie kwenye kipindi cha mpito kwa kuweka menejimenti na bodi ya muda. Elevate among the existing workforce ambao wanauzoefu kushika nafasi za menejimenti na iundwe bodi ya mpito pia.

2) Ndani ya miezi 6, serikali ihakikishe kuwa imempata consultant ambaye atatoa ushauri na huduma ya menejimenti kama ambavyo ilivyoinuliwa Kenya Airways. Kenya Airways iliajiri management consultants nadhani from Speed Wing ya UK ambao ndiyo waliisuka kabla ya kuwaachia wazalendo.

3) Serikali ikasimu madaraka kwa consultant kuajiri wazalendo (Hapa ninapendekeza Vijana hata kama ni fresh graduates) ambao watafanya kazi kwa pamoja na hao consultants kwa kipindi cha miezi 36 au hadi 48 ili kuwafanya wajenge uwezo wa kufanya kazi katika menejimenti level and at the same time wajenge team spirit.

Hii timu ya wazalendo ndiyo itakayokuja kuwa chachu ya uendeshaji na kurithisha utaalam kwa wazalendo wengine.

Ninahakika kuwa katika kipindi ambacho washauri watakuwepo Serikali na ATCL itafaidika kwa kupata utaalam ambao kwa muda mrefu kumekuwa na gap la kupokezana katika kada za kitaalam ndani ya shirika la ndege.

Vilevile nina amini kuwa kwa mara ya kwanza baada ya kupita muda mrefu sana, ATCL inawezakuwa na mkakati wa kibiashara ambao utakuwa umetafitiwa kitaalam na kuwa na uwezo wa kutekelezeka na kuleta tija.
 
Kuna wakati ATC ilikuwa ktk hali nzuri sana pamoja na kwamba tulikuwa ktk Ujamaa na mnakumbuka ikiongozwa na Mwapachu.. Nadhani ipo haja ya kumweka tena Mwapachu ktk board of Directors ya shirika hilo na kama alivyosema Mwanakijiji, ATC iuze share zake kwa wananchi kupitia soko letu DSE..
 
Wakuu haya mawazo mnayoyabandika hapa ni mazuri sana.Tatizo wenye mali(serikali) washaamua kuwauzia wachina.

Nimekusoma mkuu, hali unayosema nzuri wakati huo kwa ATCL ni kwamba ilikuwa ni sehemu muhimu katika kuzalisha wataalam na utaalam wa aviation. Kwa sababu ninakumbuka mipango ya mafunzo kwa wafanyakazi ilikuwa ni across the board Hali hii ilisaidia Tanzania kuwa na wataalam wengi marubani, mafundi, wataalamu wa uendeshaji, mapato, huduma za abiria nk. Lakini mabadiliko mbalimbali yaliyojitokeza kwa ATC pamoja na sera za serikali juu ya ubinafsishaji wa mashirika ya umma ATC ili-ceased kuwa kitovu cha kuzalisha wataalam. Tatizo la upungufu wa wataalam katika sekta hiyo ndiyo linaloitafuna ATC na nchi hii kwa sasa

Wazo la kuuza hisa za ATCL ni wazo zuri lakini linahitaji muda muafaka yaani hadi hapo ATCL itakapokuwa profitable na kuweza kutoa matumaini ya kuendelea kufanya vizuri. Sasa hivi hata uuze hisa hiizo kwa Sh.10 nobody will bid kwani kampuni hatengenezi faida.

Tukitazama upande wa pili wa 'shilingi' Air Tanzania wakati huo iliendeshwa kwa kutumia pamoja na mambo mengine, ilikuwa ni ruzuku ya serikali. Shirika halikuwa likitengeneza faida kutokana na operations zake.

Wakati wa Marehemu Sanare ATCL ili ripoti nadhani kwa mara ya kwanza au baada ya muda mrefu faida iliyotokana na uendeshaji (Opreting profit). Japokuwa faida ilikuwa ndogo sana lakini ilitosha kuonesha kuwa ATCL ilikuwa inaelekea katika mwelekeo mzuri.

Wazo la kuwarudisha akina Mwapachu, silikatai, lakini ninashauri huyu Mzee aachwe apumzike, kazi nzuri aliyoifanya ATC inatosha

Kwa sasa hivi hisa za ATCL haziwezi kuuzika kwa bei nzuri kwani kampuni haitengenezi faida. ATCL inahitaji kuwa profitable na vilevile ni lazima ionekane inaamiinika.

ATCL ikisha ota mbawa ni vigumu sana kwa viongozi kuachia tena kwani ulaji utakuwa hapo.. kumbuka Watu na Mazingira, utamaduni wa maskini siku zote husubiri mtoto kavunja ungo tu...Kwa hiyo mfumo bora kwa watu maskini ni kutafuta Upatu kisha nguvu ikija patikana serikali haina mkono wake ndani tena..
Kisha kuna swala la ushirikiano kati ya shirika hili na yale ya nchi za Ulaya.. Ni muhimu kushirikiana na shirika ambalo linatoka nchi yenye kutuletea watalii. wafanya biashara wengi zaidi kwa mwaka.. Yaani hiyo Airline ya nje inawaleta hadi Dar na ATCL ni kazi yake kuwapeleka mikoani.. Nchi kama China ni hasara tupu kwani ni wasafiri wakubwa ni Watanzania wenyewe from Dar to Shanghai wakirudi nchini wanaishia JKN Airport.. ATCL haina kitu sawa na kutumia jina la Hard rock cafe wakati unauza safari na Kilimanjaro beer!

....nchi nyingi zilizoendelea hazina National airline,ni private companies tuu na mojawapo ni States na usafiri ni first class,huko Belgium sijui kama wana tatizo la usafiri wa ndege kwa ajiri ya kufa sabena,Precision ni private company lakini huduma zake kwa sasa ni nzuri kuliko hao ATCL ambao wanabebwa kuanzia kwenye policy mpaka financing,wape Precision playing field ya ATCL bila hata cent uone kazi...hivi tunataka National airline au usafiri mzuri kwa wananchi bila kujali ownership?

Mkuu nadhani hujanisoma vizuri.. nimependelkeza ATCL kuuza hisa kwa wananchi ktk soko letu yaani iwe Public company... na kwa lugha ya kibongo ndio private company hivyoo. US wana mashirika mengi sana ya ndege kiasi kwamba sio swala la cha ngama na nakuhakikishia huwezi kuona wanauza nje unless nchi ambazo wanashirikiana au kubadilishana Innovation Technology nchi kama UK na Germany kwa sababu sasa hivi ushindani ni mkubwa sana kutoka Asia. Siku zote wanajua kina nani Allies au adui yao kibiashara.. We don't!
Tanzania tukiwauzia China hiyo ATCL unafikiri unaweza kunipa mfano wake kibiashara, madai ya private co ikiwa hakuna tofauti na mkoloni alivyokuwa akiendesha Ukoloni Afrika - sehemu ya kuja chuma..Kweli
Private company means Private people not Government owns the company lakini ukiangalia sheria zao za kufungua shirika private kama hilo kwa wageni utaona milango imefungwa na nafasi finyu sana imetolewa kwa wageni..Sisi mapazia wazi, milango waiz na madirisha wakati nyumba yenyewe hata dari haina..Palepale bob - watu na mazingira..

Shirika kuwa Private company haina maana zaidi ya kuondoa mkono wa serikali lakini mapato yake yanazunguka ndani na pia kodi yake ambayo ndio muhimu shirika linafanyiwa registration ya makao makuu ndani ya nchi yetu..

ATCL ni mali ya Tanzania na inatakiwa tujivunie kiuchumi kama vile Marekani wanapojivunia mashirika ya magari Ford, GM na kadhalika kuwa ni American brand kwa sababu ndiko wanakochuma...Hata shirika kama North west Airline NWA walipo file chapter 11 wamejaribu weee hadi imefikia kuuza kununuliwa na shirika la ndani Delta ambalo pia lipo ktk soko lao...
Bila shaka tunatakiwa ku move out of Government control lakini inatakiwa kuwepo uwezo kwanza wa kufanya hivyo taratibu serikali iuze share kwa wananchi hadi hapo tunakapoweza kujitenga kabisa na serikali sio kukurupuka na kuuza nje share zetu..Trust ATCL itakuwa a foreign company na watapewa msamaha wa kodi ambazo ni muhimu kwa maendeleo yetu.. Hii ni biashara mkuu inabidi tuanze kufikiria biashara kwani Ubepari hautowi mwanya kwenye makosa..

Tumeyaona kwenye madini sasa mnataka kurudia makosa yaleyale. Precision Airways ni ya mtu mmoja ambaye kesho anaweza kuamua akafunga au kuiuza kwa mtu yeyote it's not a public property..Kutoa mfano wa services zake hiyo mkuu ni cheap shot kwa sababu ATCL kama shirika ipo ktk hali mbaya kiuchumi kutokana na makapa shume ndani ya Uongozi wa shirika na serikali yenyewe. Kwa hiyo matatizo ya Uongozi yasitumike kabisa kuliadhibu shirika zima kwa kutumia mfano wa Precision hali viongozi wa ATCL wakihashiwa Presicion wakatumia mfumo wa uongozi toka ATCL matokeo yake Precision itakuwa another ATCL..Tuwe wakweli ktk kukubali makosa yetu badala ya kunyooshea kidole shirika.
Kuna uwezekano mkubwa wa ATCL kufanikiwa ikiwa itakuwa privatized in a sense of a Public company (kuuza share kwa wananchi)...Merger na mashirka kama Emarites au Gulf Air ni wazo zuri pia kwani nafikiri ndizo ndege zenye kusafiriwa sana na wakazi wa nchi za Afrika mashariki na kati.
