    Pengine mimi si mtaalam sana wa IT, lakini wakati hizi Fibre Optic network cables zilipokuwa zinatandazwa tuliahidiwa kuwa mawasiliano ya internet yangekuwa na kasi zaidi na tena bei zingekuwa chini.

    Cha ajabu ni bei za modem tu ndio zimeshuka; Internet eg 1 GB or 2 GB for 40,000 a month is still expensive na spidi za connection ni ndogo mno hata kwa ile mitandao inayotomia CDMA-EVDO (TTCL, ZANTEL) ambayo tulitarajia iwe na unafuu ndio kwanza inachechemea.

    Huwezi kuwasiliana clear kwa voice ni ishu (Vodacom mpo?) na message hutumia hata masaa matatu (Tigo) kabla ya kuwa delivered huku bundle inayodaiwa kuwa the cheapest (Airtel at 2500/- a month for 400mb) imebaki kuwa mwanasesere maana inaweza kufungua Google page pekee na kwa watumiaji wa Gmail utafanikiwa tu kuona mail listing lakini kufungua message nzima itakuchukua nusu saa.

    Hivi masanduku ya posta bado yapo? maana naona Barua zinaanza kuwa fasta sasa kuliko email.

    Shida kubwa ya wengi wanaangalia huduma kupitia mobile phones ambao wana charge kwa GB. GB ni kama kipimo cha Kibaba, au kopo au ndoo au pipa. Wajanja wananunua DEDICATED BANDWIDTH ambayo wanacharge kwa Mwezi kwa kipimo chochote unachotaka. hii ni sawa na kuwa na bomba la maji ukafungulia usiku na mchana lakini Month end unalipa kiasi kile kile.

    In fact bei za internet zimeshuka sana. Mfano kabla ya mkonga 1 Mbps DEDICATED ilikuwa inafika $ 6000 kwa mwezi kwa Kenya na Tanzania. Sasa hivi 1 Mbps kwa Kenya ni US $ 200 - 300 per month where as Tanzania ni kati ya $ 600 - 900 Per Month.

    Bei zimeshuka na speed imeongezeka.....1GB ilikuwa shilling millioni moja TTCL kabla ya fibre.

    Bei zingeshuka sana kama watumiaji wangekuwa wengi!
    1. watumiaji ni wachache (Africa Internet Usage and Population Statistics), mkonga umefika lakini watu wengi hawana kompyuta, umeme na maarifa ya kompyuta.
    2. watoa huduma lazima wapate faida, kwa hivyo watu wachache wanalazimika kulipia gharama za uendeshaji wa mitandao yote + faida.
    3. watoa huduma wote wamekimbilia njia rahisi (wireless) kwa hiyo hatutafaidi vizuri mkonga.
    4. Kila mtoa huduma anajenga mtandao wake, kwa hiyo gharama za uendeshaji zinakuwa kubwa.
    Tena inawezekana watoa huduma wanalipia capacity kubwa ambayo haitumiki. Mfano kama provida amenunua 10Gbps halafu ana wateja 200 tena wa wireless ambao wanapimiwa kwa kiwango cha 2Mbps, hiyo 10Gbps italipiwa na nani?

    Bora wangeunganisha nguvu wajenge mkonga mpaka kila mji.

    simu nadhani zimekuwa bei au? sio lazima internet peke yake, simu pia. Speed imeongezeka, na kwa wale ambao wapo cabled basi wanaona kama speed imeongezeka..

    Unless you just want to be critic about it, then you'be making a point.

    Spidi imeongezeka, hasa kwa sisi ambao tunatumia TTCL tunaona mabadiliko ya haja, lakini pia hata bei imeshuka sana. Nakumbuka kabla ya fibre Optic cable kuja, 20 GB bundle tulikuwa tukiuziwa kwa TZS 460,000/- kwa mwezi, lakini kwa sasa kiwango hicho hicho cha GB ni chini ya nusu ya bei hiyo. Shida moja ni kwamba ikifika mwisho wa mwezi, kama hujamaliza hizo 20 GB jamaa wanaondoa kabisa lile salio, unanunua upya!

    kuna member mmoja ameeleza juu ya uchache wa watanzania juu ya matumizi ya internet kuwa ni kikwazo, kwa hili nasupport maana kuna gharama za uendeshaji na asilimia 12 bado ni ndogo ukilinganisha takwimu ya wakenya.

    Wanatechnologia na watumiaji wa hii tekinolojia kwanza lazima ujiulize unapotaka kujiunga au kutumia mtandao wa mawasiliano ya habari kuwa, huu mtandao ninaojiunga nao umeungwa kwenye mkongo (optic fiber) au hii kampuni ya mawasiliano imejiunga kwenye mkongo, hapo ndo unaweza kusema upo kwenye mawasiliano yenye spidi na yatakayokupa kiasi kile unachotaka kupakua, kwa mfano si makampuni yote ya simu yanatumia mkongo kwa watumiaji (end users) kama simu au intaneti, wengine wote wanatumia kama njia tu ya kupitishia mawasiliano yao kwenda nchi zingine (backbone, au Link) na si kwa matumizi ya walaji, na kunabaadhi ya ISP wanatoa kulingana na uhitaji wako (pesa yako) sasa kuja kwa mkongo kusiwe ndo kuona kila kitu kitakuwa bei nafuu au kiwango kikubwa cha kupakua, hii itategemea na unatumia mtandao wa kampuni ipi iliyojiunga na mkongo huo na umeungwa kwa matumizi ya pesa yako ya kiasi gani.

    Kikawaida mkongo ulitakiwa uwe na unafuu wa bei (ambayo inaonekana kushuka) unafuu wa upakuaji (downloading/Uploading), unafuu wa kuto katikakatika kama ilivyokuwa kwa seteliti (hata mvua ikinyesha tu mtandao unaondoka au jua likigongana na setelite tu maswaliano yanakuwa ya shida siku na saa hiyo au ndege ikipita karibu na earth station stelite yako basi shida tu), na kupunguza gharama za uendesheja (kwa mkongo gharama ziko kwenye uwekeaji sana ndiyo maana hapa watu hwajaona unafuu sana japo upo kwani makamuni yoye yanajearibu kupata ROI kwanza then baadaye bei itashuka kwani operating costs hazitakuwa kubwa kama ilivyokuwa kwa microwave, setelite na cable (120ohm/75ohm au cat5/6).

    Tatizo hizo telco companies zetu bongo zinatakiwa ziinvest zaidi katika mitandao yake watu ni wengi sikuhizi wanahitaji internet ndo maana internet inachemsha yani masaa 24. Yaani wabongo sikuhizi wako online full time bwana. hizo sijui fibe optic cables hazisaidii kama una minara mitatu kuhudomia watu nusu milioni itachemsha tuuu. Ndo maana wanatupromis speed high siye in reality tunapata kidunchu
