    3. Wanawake gani Tanzania wanaweza kuwa in the limelight as having contributed in shaping the history of Tanzania?

Katika kundi hili la pili kuna Let the People Speak: Tanzania Down the Road to Neo-Liberalism cha Issa Shivji na Capitalism, Socialism and the Development Crisis in Tanzania kilichohaririwa na Norman O'Neill na Kemal Mustafa.

Ili kupata usuli mzuri wa baadhi yao tafuta kitabu cha TANU WOMEN: Gender and Culture in the Making of Tanganyikan Nationalism, 1955-1965 cha Susan Geiger.

Sophia Mustafa (1922-2005) was a writer, literacy and political activist of high acclaim. She is author of the novel In the Shadow of Kirinyaga (Tsar Publications, Toronto, 2002), a story set in early colonial Kenya, told from the perspective of a Muslim family. She was one of Tanzania’s first women members of parliament. Of Kashmiri Indian origin, she grew up and lived in East Africa, where she was active in developing literacy, libraries and newspapers in rural areas.

The Tanganyika Way spans the political events of 1958–1961 that led to Tanganyika's independence from Britain. Sophia Mustafa participated in those events, and her account offers
a rare insider's perspective of the political drama. She covers large international and national issues, which, coupled with the smaller personal details of her life, open a window into
a time and an experience that are emblematic of an unique historical moment.

    Kwa upande wangu naweza kusema kwamba sababu kuu ya lost decades ni mfumo wa utawala uliokuwapo ambao uliunganisha vitu vingi sana around politics mfumo mzima wa utawala uliopo na licha ya mageuzi bado mengine hayakuwa ya yakibadilika ipasavyo;

VeraCity, abbreviations zako zinatisha, nilivyoona VC nikadhani Vice Chancellor, ( With a light touch)

On a serious note Vera I once asked the same question in one of my threads about the history of this country. As a nation we do not have history books. I think and i stand to be corrected, we just have some thesis lying in university shelves but not yet published in which case you can not see any history book in bookshops in Tanzania.

It is a shame, I once visited Bookshops and asked for serious history books i couldn find one, with the collective plea and or request academicians may come up with something.

Lost Decade ya 1980 was a one man's show? Let the old man rest in peace. Kulosti kwetu ni kwa sababu yetu wenyewe. Its more than 2 decades since he left power and yet we are having lost decades!

Yaani, its unbelievable jinsi tulivyokuwa entangled na siasa hapa kwetu.. nadhani labda tungejaribu kunyambulisha hii mada in pieces of 5 years, and watu waweke memorable events hata kama ni za kimkoa eg. 7-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94 nk.

its painful when we fail to read our history to our kinds... utashangaa tunamkumbuka zwangendaba halafu tunasahau akina brigedia karubi, dr. makene nk.

    Matukio muhimu:

1975: Kusaidia Ukombozi wa Msumbiji na Angola dhidi ya Wareno
1979: Kuikomboa Uganda kutoka kwenye Makucha ya Nduli Amin
1980: Kufanikisha Ukombozi wa Zimbabwe kutoka kwa Ian Smith

Camarade, the problem is not writting, wameandika sana tena extensively, tatizo vitabu havipatikani, natafuta kitabu a short history of tanzania by kimambo lakini dukani hakuna.

I salute the academicians and i have very high respect on them let the books be distributed and people be encouraged to read them and when they see how colonialism came to our country and what the leaders are doing, at least now, the hatred to the so called chama itazidi. I swear.
