Operation Fagia in Nyeri County
OPERATION FAGIA is a broad nationwide campaign to promote the rule of law and other attributes of good governance, including visionary leadership. The campaign is organized around three broad themes:
(i) Vunja Nyororo ya Ufisadi (Break the Chain of Corruption) Campaign to mobilise the masses to open up a structured popular front on the war on corruption to support the official one being spearheaded by the Kenya Anticorruption Commission and other law enforcement agencies.
(ii) Utawala bora siyo ujana (Good Governance not age) campaign to mobilise the masses to counter the emerging distortion that the solution to Kenyas woes lies in a mere generational changeover in political leadership as opposed to the much craved holistic culture transformation in the conduct of all public affairs for the common good.
(iii) Uhuru na Ustawi (Freedom and Prosperity) Campaign to mobilise the masses to agitate for pro-people platforms, policies and programmes that will lead to the emergence of a modern economy that will produce surplus wealth in all spheres of Kenyan society.
OPERATION FAGIA will be launched in Nyeri County at Whispers Park on Saturday, February 19, 2011, from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm. There will be a procession with the freedom chain from Sungura Park through Gakere Road, terminating at Whispers Park for the launch of Operation Fagia in Nyeri County. This will be preceded on Thursday, February 17, 2011, by a community leaders forum at the Old Municipal Hall next to Whispers Park.
During the launch citizens will be given a platform to express themselves on corruption, good governance, visionary leadership, economic prosperity, and any other pertinent issues affecting the people of Nyeri County in particular and Kenyan citizens in general.
Kenyans for Justice and Development (KEJUDE TRUST) invites all people of goodwill from Nyeri County to join this national campaign for Good Governance, the Rule of Law, Economic Prosperity, and National Integration.
Entertainment by Jikaze Cultural Dancers (Mwomboko Dancers) and other local artists led by HEKCRO MWANGI of the Ndari Hingura Murango and other hit songs.
