nilikua na hamu ya kujua Menopause nini nikafungua hii thread kwa hamu kubwa...badala yake na kutana na dawa tu sijapata nilichotaka....ungeelezea basi hilo tatizo likoje kabla hujanadi dawa!!

Menopause is a normal condition that all women experience as they age. The term "menopause" is commonly used to describe any of the changes a woman experiences either just before or after she stops menstruating, marking the end of her reproductive period.

The peri-menopause is the 3 to 5 year period before the menopause when a woman's estrogen levels begin to drop.

What Causes Menopause?

A woman is born with a finite number of eggs, which are stored in the ovaries. The ovaries also produce the hormones estrogen and progesterone, which regulate menstruation and ovulation. Menopause occurs when the ovaries no longer release an egg every month and menstruation stops.

Menopause, when it occurs after the age of 40, is considered a normal part of aging. But some women can experience menopause early, either as a result of surgery, such as hysterectomy, or damage to the ovaries, such as from chemotherapy. Menopause that occurs before the age of 40, regardless of the cause, is called premature menopause.

What are the symptoms?

Irregular periods - this is usually the first symptom; menstrual pattern changes. Some women may experience a period every two to three weeks, while others will not have one for months at a time.

Lower fertility - during the peri-menopausal stage of a woman's life, her estrogen levels will drop significantly, lowering her chances of becoming pregnant.

Vaginal dryness - this may be accompanied by itching and/or discomfort. It tends to happen during the peri-menopause. Some women may experience pain during sex.

Hot flashes - a sudden feeling of heat in the upper body. It may start in the face, neck or chest, and then spreads upwards or downwards (depending on where it started). The skin on the face, neck or chest may redden and become patchy, and the woman typically starts to sweat

Night sweats - if the hot flashes happen in bed they are called night sweats. Most women say their hot flashes do not last more than a few minutes.

Moodiness - this often goes hand-in-hand with sleep disturbance. Experts say that most mood disturbances are triggered by poor sleep.

Problems focusing and learning - Some women may also have short-term memory problems, as well as finding it hard to concentrate on something for long

Hair loss (thinning hair).

Loss of breast size

If left untreated, these symptoms will usually taper off gradually over a period of two to five years. However, symptoms can persist for much longer. In some cases, vaginal dryness, itching and discomfort can become chronic, and eventually get worse if left untreated.

Sisi wazee wetu walikuwepo juzi tu ambao tunawafahamu walikuwa wanafahamu dawa nyingi sana za mitishamba na ilikuwa mtu akipata tatizo anaambiwa asubiri akatafutiwe tiba mzee anaingia shambani na kurudi na majani ambayo yamesagwasagwa bila kufahamu ni aina gani lakini baada ya kutumia yanakuwa yanatibu tatizo. Hao wazee kwa sasa wako wapi? Je wametuachia chochote kuhusu hizo products? Hao ni kwa wale tunaowafahamu tu. Wapo wengi waliopita kizazi na kizazi na tabia inakuwa ni hii na baadaye sisi tunaokuwepo kwa sasa tunakuwa hatufahamu kabisa tiba za asilia. Sasa kwa mataifa mengine mambo kama haya yamekuwa yakihifadhiwa na kufanyiwa utafiti miaka mingi kabla ya Kristo na baadaye teknolojia ilivyoingia ikawa inazidi kurahisisha utafiti na uandaaji pamoja na uhifadhi wa products na ndiyo kwa sasa tunaweza kuzipata kwa namna unavyoziona.
