CALL FOR ACTION IN NORTH MARA GOLD MINE

Greetings from North Mara in Tarime.​

I wish to share with you some photos of the current situation in North Mara. Rev. Magafu and I have been assessing and identifying the victims of the last year’s and ongoing waste ponds spillage at North Mara gold mine.

New cases of the victims are coming up with symptoms that are vivid and the situation is alarming. Two cases, though, needs immediate medical attention and action. This involves Mama Otaigo from Weigita village and Paul (8 year old boy) from Nkerege village.​

The situation we have found them in is far different from when we met them during the health screening done in January 7th 2010. Their health state is deteriorating from day to day. I am attaching their current photos for your review.​

As the governments still remains silent on this matter attempts to get referral letters from government health facilities have proved abortive and therefore we need to act as soon as possible to save the lives of those who are critically ill.

An appeal is made to all of you to act in your different capacities.

Bora mababu zetu waliokuwa watumwa wa wazungu kuliko huu utumwa wa watanzania wenzetu.

Katika hali kama hii hatuwezi kusema kwamba tuna serikali ya kizalendo inayoongoza kwa misingi ya utawala bora na inayojali maslahi ya wananchi wake.

Hii ni aibu kubwa na matusi kwa wananchi wa tanzania na hususan wale wanaoishi kwenye maeneo ya jirani na migodi.

Serikali isiyojali maslahi ya raia wake, isiyojali uhai wao na mali zao ni serikali mbaya kuliko hata vikundi vya kigaidi!!

Could someone please confirm if this is definately caused by polution from mining under Barick administration. We need to take this further and we need to expose barrick to western world and they need to get penalised if possible. They are against everything they state in their SCR and we need to do something. Chacha could you please get intouch with me, i will be happy to assist taking this a bit further and expose Barricks to the western world. send me email on JF and i will be give you my private email address for further communication. I cant explain how i feel, its just so so sad..

Kuna haja ya kufanya mapinduzi ya kifikra ili kupambana na umangimeza wa waliopewa mlunguli. I have been around those area for some time, really they are not enviromentally friends. Nashangaa hadi sasa hatujaambiwa matokeo ya tume iliyoundwa kufanya uchunguja. JF mnisaidie katika hili maana matokeo yanaweza kuwa yalitangazwa ili hali nipo mahali hapana namna ya kupata information.

Too sad, hawa watoto tayari wameshapata kilema cha maisha maskini - tena katika nchi yao Tanzania! kwa uzembe tu! yauma sana.
Sidhani kuna malipo yoyote watapata - nchi hii kuna watu hawana huruma kabisa -
a) Wizara ya mambo ya ndani mpo wapi?
b) Wizara inayohusika na mazingira mpo wapi?
c) Waziri mkuu yupo wapi?
d) Bunge lipo wapi?
e) Rais yupo wapi?

Najaribu kukutea JK, ila inafika mahala nguvu zinaniishia, ukiangalia picha za hawa watoto kipi cha kwanza kinakuingia akilini? ni nchi isiyo na misingi ya utawala bora - nchi ni hovyo hovyo tu - nchi iliyo na serikali / Bunge legelege.
Haya ni matokeo ya kuchagua CCM - Chama kichafu kinazaa serikali corrupt isiyo na uwezo wa kuongoza Umma.

Hawa wazungu pamoja na uzembe wote huu waliofanya, hakuna hata mmoja ambaye amekamatwa na chombo cha dola, mgodi unaendelea na kazi kama kawaida.

Kuna Viongozi ambao wamegoma kutimiza wajibu wao kabisa - kweli this is Tanzania ma lovely country.

Sorry i thought wewe ndio chacha mwenyewe. Mkuu i asked if there are scientific Evidences kwasababu we in order to get support from media in western countries we need to these evidence. Hatuwezi tukaapproach for instance BBC na kuwapa info with no evidence.. kuna mashirika mengi tu ambayo will be so interested with this case if we represent this with strong evidence, this includes ngo environmental and sustainable developments groups. SCR has to be based on honest and if barick does follow what they say on their SCR report that is absolute social unaccepted in western communities.
