PM George Papandreou has said that only his 28bn-euro (£25bn) austerity plan would get Greece back on its feet.

If the package is not approved, Greece could run out of money within weeks.

Without a new plan in place, the EU and IMF say they will withhold 12bn euros of loans which Greece needs to repay debts due in mid-July.

Sasa wasubiri hasira za wananchi.

They recently had elections, where the pro-bail out parties won. They know they need the money because they are bankrupt.

A Grexit will lead to a much worse civil unrest if not a civil war.

I also think, if Greece leaves the Euro, some countries might do just the same.

Thousands on Paris streets to denounce EU 'austerity' pact

Thousands of left-wing protesters took to the streets of Paris on Sunday to denounce the European Union fiscal pact forcing governments to stick to tough deficit limits.
Chanting "Resistance!", protesters marched through central Paris in a rally organisers said was aimed at fighting EU-imposed austerity, not at criticising the government of Socialist President Francois Hollande.

"This day is the day the French people launch a movement against the policy of austerity," one-time presidential contender and Left Front leader Jean-Luc Melenchon said at the march.

Greek PM says funds will run out by November

Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras says that if the next slice of international aid does not arrive, his debt-ridden country will run out of money by November.

"Until the end of November. Then the coffers are empty," said Samaras in an interview with the business daily Handelsblatt on Friday.
