Christian Wulff expected to announce resignation
[h=1]German president to resign: Report[/h] Hürriyet
[h=2][/h]
Wulff is set to make an announcement at 11 a.m. German time (noon Turkish time).
The president has been entangled in several scandals over the last few months and is set to become the first head of state in the federal republic's history to lose his immunity.
Wulff has been in his position for roughly two years and took over the president's seat from Horst Köhler, who had also resigned.
Wulff is known to be disliked by conservatives for stating that "Islam, too, is now part of Germany without a doubt."
