FNB has largest market share for cellphone banking

The recently released All Media and Products Survey (AMPS,) conducted by the South African Advertising Research Foundation on the 2011(B) period reveals that First National Bank (FNB) has the largest market share (33%), for cellphone banking in South Africa
The average monthly transaction value processed on the channel exceeds R2 billion.

The AMPS survey shows that FNB has the highest concentration of cellphone banking users between 19-40 years of age, with 2% of these users under the age of 18. 20% of users are between 41-60 years old, while 3% are over 61 years of age.
FNB first launched their cellphone banking service in 2005 and continues to improve their product offering to answer the call for innovative banking solutions. Recent additions to the offering include FNB Vouchers via Facebook, Cardless Cash Withdrawal facilities and Pay2Cel.
FNB's cellphone banking services are currently available in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zambia and Namibia.
