    Dominique Strauss-Kahn
Most people would agree that skirt-chasing aside, the suggestion that Dominique Strauss-Kahn raped or even attempted to rape a hotel maid, as claimed by New York's 'finest', is preposterous on its face.

The ease at which the former International Monetary Fund managing director could have hired any number of women, or men for that matter, to attend to his sexual needs must surely raise the question, is Strauss-Kahn being set up?

The so-called 'victim' lawyered-up immediately after making her allegations, choosing Jeffrey Shapiro, a lawyer known for personal injury claims, leading me to believe that her desire is not so much "justice" as it is "financial gain".

Now police have secretly leaked to the media that "DNA matching Dominique Strauss-Kahn" was found on the maid's clothing and through media reports we have learned that the DNA was found on the woman's collar.

From a distance it's obvious to me that Strauss-Kahn was fit up for this alleged crime in order to remove him from his powerful position with the IMF (already accomplished) and to prevent him from being able to challenge French President Nicholas Sarkozy in next years' election (very likely).
But the DNA claims leaked by the secret police might be Strauss-Kahn's saving grace.

According to an article by Andrew Pollack, scientists "in Israel have demonstrated that it is possible to fabricate DNA evidence, undermining the credibility of what has been considered the gold standard of proof in criminal cases."

In a 2009 New York Times article, Pollack wrote: "The scientists fabricated blood and saliva samples containing DNA from a person other than the donor of the blood and saliva. "They also showed that if they had access to a DNA profile in a database, they could construct a sample of DNA to match that profile without obtaining any tissue from that person."

I SAY: I just want to make a point to some on this Forum that they should not jump into conclusions on the cases that involve high profile personalities. There is so much at work in international politics. Personally I think this guy is a victim of intelligence agencies, including MOSAD, which would like to keep him out of the French Presidential race. Sarkozy, a former MOSAD operative and a staunch Israeli supporter, cannot win the next election if juxtaposed with any strong candidate..... you finish the thread.......

DSK loves women and he has never hiiden this passion! But the preposterousity of the claim was evident when our sister's re-known lawyer claimed that she had no idea of who he was when she was attending the room. This is nosense because members of staff are clearly briefed when rooms are booked by/for VIP guests, and actually seniour executives inspect the said rooms prior to ensure the comfort of such moneyed guests. to me that is where the catch is, framed or not framed.

In some NYC circles, every guest is a VIP and staff members are briefed to treat everyone as such, no need for further discretion which may actually be against some privacy mores. This guy has an apartment in NYC and yet he decides to go to a hotel, hotel management may want to keep his privacy just in case he doesn't want the attention, for all they know he could be sleeping with a mistress, so why risk a picture of DSK leaving the hotel on page six of The New York Post? Or even TMZ ? I could totally see the hotel not overplaying DSK's importance.

Moreover, even if the chambermaid was briefed that "This is DSK, head of IMF" there is no reason the woman should know the significance of that, for all we know she couldn't tell the IMF from the INS. She is a chamermaid for god's sake, not a financial analyst.

The original post is weak indeed, and while a plausible case for DSK can be concocted, his history is irrefutably checkered to warrant credibility to this whole brouhaha.

Oftentimes we assume people act rationally. There is a truth to the phrase "thinking with the dick' and it looks like DSK was doing exactly that.

Most first generation immigrants in her position are like too "I am just happy to be here" to resort to any daring sexual harrassment fabrication, many are actually harassed and choose to keep quiet for fear of attracting attention, so let's not blame the victim here.

Tests on DNA samples taken from former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who was forced to resign last week over allegations of sexually assaulting a hotel maid in New York, were found matching to those found on the clothes of his alleged victim, U.S. media reports citing unnamed sources close to the investigation said on Tuesday.

According to the reports, further tests are being carried out in the hotel suite where the alleged assault took place. The alleged victim, a 32-year-old woman from west Africa, claims that Strauss-Kahn had sexually assaulted her in the suite in the Sofitel New York near Times Square on May 14.

Meanwhile, the New York Police Department denied reports suggesting that traces of Strauss-Kahn's semen was found on the hotel maid's clothes, insisting that investigators had so far given "no result and no information" about the DNA test results.

Strauss-Kahn was taken off a Paris-bound Air France plane about to leave New York's JFK airport after the alleged victim lodged a formal complaint with local police. She also identified him as her attacker in a police line-up after his arrest.

The Frenchman had spent four days at the notorious Rikers Island prison in New York after a court remanded him to custody. He has since been formally charged, following a grand jury hearing. He is now due to enter a formal plea on June 6.

Strauss-Kahn has been charged with seven counts including four felony charges - two of criminal sexual acts, one of attempted rape and one of sexual abuse - as well as three misdemeanor offenses, including unlawful imprisonment. He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted of the charges.

Strauss-Kahn, who has denied the charges, resigned as Mananging Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on May 16.

He is currently under house-arrest in a luxury apartment in New York after being granted a $1 million bail last week. The bail conditions require Strauss-Kahn to remain in confinement in the Manhattan apartment 24 hours a day, wear an electronic ankle tag to monitor his movement and surrender his passport until the case is resolved.

The highlighted part of your statement: not necessarily at five star hotels tell their chambermaids staff who is who, what they tell them is the quality of services they have to provide and in this case such a hotel is a daily routine to have those moneyed guests. I suspect sometimes you wont even find them registered by their names for security reasons.

Consipiricay theory yangu ni kwamba huyu jama ainawezekana aliomba apatiwe huduma maalum. may be accidentaly binti alikwenda kuhudumia chumba mwenye chumba akajua ndo mzigo umefika. kumbe sio.

But kwa story za jamaa inaoenekana dudu yake inapenda sana kutafuta mashimo ya kujificha.
