Kwa nini CCM hawajifunzi? kila ulaghai wanaoleta dhidi ya Chadema una backfire na kama mbumbumbu vile hawaonei aibu jinsi wanavyo adhirika kwa siasa zao za mipasho. Wanachama na wapenzi wa CCM wanawakubalije viongozi kama hawa maana naamini katika CCM wapo baadhi ya watu makini sana

Pia tafsiri kwamba huyo balozi wa EU atawasiliana na Simba KUMTAKA atoe maelezo juu ya shutuma hizo nayo sio tafsiri sahihi ya habari. Tafsiri halisi ni kwamba balozi atawasiliana na simba ili kujua/ kupata ukweli wa chanzo cha madai yake.

Hakuna sababu ya kuongeza maneno yetu kwenye habari ambayo tunaweza kuituma kama ilivyo.

Lakini si umeelewa, masuala ya tafsiri ni ya mtu binafsi hata dictionary huwa zinatofautiana kutafsiri matumizi ya neno fulani lakini maana inabaki ile ile.

Balozi wa EU nchini Mr Tim Clarke amekanusha taarifa zilizotolewa na baadhi ya mawaziri nchini kwamba Chadema inapata msaada wa kifedha kutoka mataifa ya nje (5 kutoka EU).

Sophia Simba alikanusha kutoa shutuma hizo baada ya kuhojiwa na gazeti la The Citizen, na kusema kwamba hajawahi kutoa tamko kama hilo wakati wowote kwani yeye hahusiki na mataifa ya EU au mengine yeyote.

Mb wa Chadema, John Mnyika alisema Sophia Simba amenukuliwa mara tatu (mara moja na TBC1) akitoa matamshi ya kushutumu Chadema kufadhiliwa na baadhi ya nchi za EU.

The European Union (EU) is investigating claims by an official of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) that five of its member countries are financing Chadema to instigate chaos in the country.

The EU head of delegation in Tanzania, Mr Tim Clarke, said he would contact the CCM women's wing chairperson, Ms Sophia Simba, to establish the basis of her recent remarks on the alleged financial support to the opposition party.

"I have no idea where these allegations have come from," Ambassador Clarke said in an interview with The Citizen.

"As far as my own institution (EU) is concerned, I can categorically state that we have not, nor will we fund any individual political party in Tanzania," the EU envoy stated.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam on Sunday after the Official Opposition party's central committee meeting, national chairman Freeman Mbowe said they would take legal action against Ms Simba and others "for their statements aimed at tarnishing Chadema's image in the eyes of fellow Tanzanians".

Chadema's operations, he said, were financed with contributions from the party's leaders and members besides the official subsidy it gets from the government.Mr Mbowe accused senior government officials of giving "rather simple answers to serious national questions and shifting their fears to the general public".

Last week, Chadema's director of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr John Mnyika, who is also the Ubungo MP, told a press conference in Dar es Salaam that on several occasions, Ms Simba had been reported on television, alleging that the party was being funded by some EU countries "to make the country ungovernable".

Contacted for comment, Ms Simba, speaking by telephone from Dar es Salaam, said: "I don't know where these claims against me have come from. Chadema has invented the allegations against me for their own good."

She added: "There is no way I could have made such allegations because I don't have access to any of the EU member countries." Ms Simba, who is also the Minister for Community Development, Gender and Children, confirmed that Mr Clarke had also contacted her about the claims."I told Ambassador Clarke that I don't know anything about those claims. That's all," said Ms Simba, when reached by telephone last week.

Mr Mnyika said Ms Simba had been quoted on three occasions, making false claims against Chadema. He said that the state-owned Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) on March 7 quoted Ms Simba, as urging women not to take part in the Chadema demonstrations, alleging that some people had been bribed to participate in rallies aimed at instigating chaos.

The Ubungo MP said Chadema's legal department, headed by Mr Tundu Lissu, the party's Singida East MP, was pursuing legal action over the claims attributed to Ms Simba.Mr Mnyika also took issue with claims by Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation minister Bernard Membe that some European countries had been financing an opposition party, he did not name, to cause chaos in the country.

"This is a very serious allegation because it violates the Constitution as well as international law. It is necessary that the minister names the culprits…I am sure even the international community will demand this information from the minister," Mr Mnyika said.* He challenged Mr Membe to name the party and disclose the amount of money it had allegedly been given as well as the countries behind the alleged plot.

Accusing CCM of spreading propaganda to incite the people against his party, Mr Mnyika said Chadema was the first opposition party to react to Mr Membe's claims "due to the sensitivity of the matter".

He added: "Firstly, they propagated claims that Chadema was a tribal party. Secondly, they claimed that the party was a religious organisation; and thirdly, they said that we were committing treason by doing what we are doing. After realising that nobody was believing them, they have now come up with yet another lie."

According to Mr Mnyika, the statements allegedly made by Ms Simba and Mr Membe were proof that CCM was in a panic, as it was losing its political ground. "These claims should be made by the CCM propaganda department and not by Cabinet ministers. They should be more concerned about how much the lives of ordinary Tanzanians have become very difficult."

He said they would not appeal to the Registrar of Political Parties, Mr John Tendwa, over the matter because they had lost confidence in him, following his recent biased handling of issues concerning Chadema.

Mr Mnyika said Mr Tendwa had written to Chadema, accusing the party of violating the Constitution by organising the just-ended public rallies in the Lake Zone without giving them a chance to be heard, as required by the Political Parties' Act.

Chadema, he vowed, would carry on with its public rallies and demonstrations in other parts of the country until solutions to the issues they were complaining about were found.

He denied that Chadema had suspended the demonstrations following a warning by President Jakaya Kikwete
