Engineers wa St. Joseph College na GPA kubwa kubwa

    Nimekuwa na ukaribu na baadhi ya graduates wa fani ya uhandisi kutokana na kwamba either nimefanya nao kazi au nimewahi kuwa class-mate wao katika level mojawapo from secondary to university.

    Kati yao, wengi wamegraduate either CoET (UDSM), DIT au St. Joseph's College of Engineering. Wapo wachache pia wa SUA (NB kuna Engineering pia pale).

    Katika vyuo hivyo, nimegundua hawa wa St. Joseph's waliograduate juzi kati hapo kwa mara ya kwanza tangu kianzishwe (esp waliosoma 4 yrs), wamekuwa na GPA kubwa kubwa sana. Wengi darasani wamepata GPA za 4 point something zinazofikia hadi 4.8 , huku vyuo vingine vya Uhandisi graduates wake wakipigana hasa utakuta 'mkali' darasani anapata GPA ya 4.2 au around that, wengine wakiishia lower second.

    Lakini pia tusisahau kwamba baadhi ya walimu wa Uhandisi UDSM na DIT ndo hao hao wanaoenda kufundisha St. Joseph's as part time lectures.

    Nimeleta thread ili tubadilishane mbinu ili graduates vyuo vingine nao wafaulu sana.

    Nijuavyo ukipata PASS ina maana umefaulu..labda kama kuna maana tofauti ya kufaulu siku hizi.

    Oh, nimechanganya..kumbe unazungumzia kufaulu sana..labda unge-address hii issue kwa faculties na departments husika..hapa JF itakuwa tabu sana kupata muafaka kwenye hili.

    BTW, kwa nini unataka watu wafaulu sana?

    Ni kweli inaweza kuwa tabu kupata muafaka, lakini vilevile si vizuri kukata tamaa kwamba haiwezekani kabisa!! Ni heri niiweke tu, kama itakuwa ngumu kujadiliwa, basi nitaangalia utaratibu mwingine.
    Sidhani kama kuna watu wengi wenye potential ya kufanya vizuri zaidi wanaridhika na GPA ndogo eti 'ili mradi pass degree inapatikana'. Mara nyingi wanafunzi husoma ili wafaulu kadri wanavyoweza. 'Kufaulu sana' kama ulivyohighlight kunasaidia mengi, machache tu ni kama vile kupata scholarship kwa masomo zaidi na wakati mwingine ukaw disqualified katika kuapply baadhi ya ajira (eg. Lecturers et al). Sasa kama ulikuwa na uwezo wa kupata 4.6, kwa nini uridhike kupata 3.2 ??

    kwani wewe bw sinkala unadhani engineer anahitaji gpa kubwa ili iweje??...aje mtaani na gpa kubwa wakati hayuko practical kwenye kazi unadhani anafaa nini?...hao wanaohitaji gpa kubwa ni kwa ajili ya kusoma masters na phd then wawe waalimu wa chuo wanaoishi chini ya usd 1000 na wengine wanafrastrations za maisha wanaishia kuwa wafuga kuku vyuoni na kulewalewa hovyo.....engineer wa kibongo akisoma sana na kuwa doctor au prfs huwa serikali hai-wautilize kiasi cha kutosha then wanakuwa wanasiasa na machizi wenye frastrations za maisha....kwa maoni yangu..wanahitaji kuwa practical na soko litawachukuwa wooote..GPA KITAANI HAINA DEAL...HUKU MTAA SIJAWAHI KUULIZWA GPA ...naulizwa kama naweza kufanya kitu practical...NI MAONI TUU MZEE

    kwani ni kipi cha ajabu kwa wanafunzi wa St Joseph kupata GPA kubwa ila wangekuwa wa UDSM msingesema kwa kuwa ni haki yao,UDSM ilikuwa zamani siku hizi chuo kimepwaya madesa kwa kwenda mbele utafikiri wanafunzi wa ITEBA VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE

    1 comment: A candidate with a GPA of 4.0/4.0 from Montana State University or University of South Dakota in 'real' terms is equally or less qualified as the one with a 3.0-3.5/4.0 GPA from MIT au Princeton.

    Yeah, vyuo vipya vina tatizo hili. Unakuta graduates wao wana GPA ya juu halafu uwezo wa kazi leave a lot of questions.

    kwamba unaingia na supporting documents kwenye mitihani.kuanzia tests na ikibidi UNIVERSITY EXMAS!which is very dangerous!

    watu wanadesa,then their gpa get INFLATED.wakiitwa kwenye interview unaweza toa machozi.hawajui hata walichokiandika kwenye cv zao.ukiwaleta kwenye practical MUNGU WANGU!UTAMSLAP MTOTO WA MTU kwa kuabuse professional

    kuna chuo X kina ma lecturers,sijui ndo ma TA madem KIBAO!haki ya mungu wale madada wanamagpa ya kufa mtu KWA KUDESA,na hizo honda wanakoziweka UNAWEZA MUOMBA MUNGU AKUONDOE DUNIANI.

    sasa wakiwa madarasani wanafundisha,utadhani MWANASIASA anapoisoma hotuba kwa wadanganyika waliompa KULA

    ..............mwalimu anapewa somo la DESIGN OF STRUCTURES,halafu hesabu KUSHOTO.washkaji kibao waliacha kozi.

    kuna vijana wa COET waliniambia kuna siku walimbana lecture wao mmoja, kuhusu suala la wao kusoma sana lakini GPA zinapwaya...akajibu; mnataka nifundishe na kusahihisha mitihani kama ninavyofanya St.Joseph?

    Watu wengine bwana, kwa hiyo mnataka nawao wafanya UPUMBAVU kama wanaoufanya kitivo cha sheria UDSM kwa kuwanyima watu first class walizostahili?

    Walimkodi mhadhiri mmoja mama, akafundisha vizuri, akatoa mtihani akasahihisha kwa mujibu wa watu walivyojibu watu wakafaulu hilo somo buti akakaangwa na kitivo yeye akasema huo ndio msimamo wake hatimaye AKAAMBIWA HIYO NI CULTURE YA KITIVO. Huyo Dr aliamua kuacha kufundisha kwa AJILI YA UPUMBUFU KAMA HUO.

    Je mnataka wafanye upuuzi kama wa SUA? mpaka kipindi flani iliundwa tume kuchunguza kwa nini wengi wanaferi sana.

    HALAFU WATU WAKIFELI SANA MAANA YAKE UNAYEFUNDISHA HAUFAI, Haiwezekani 80% wasikuelewe.

    Kama uhandisi ungekuwa wa GPA duuh, some wangekuwa wanafuga kuku kama jamaa mmoja alivyosema hapa! Jamani tusisahau kuwa in order to do well in life and careers/professions, we should invest alot on life learning programs. We must keep on learning and learning continuosly.

    Hizi GPA za madesa hazina nafasi kama mtu hautakuwa creative na kuonyesha nia ya kutaka kupata achievement.

    Nakumbuka chuo kuna Dr Mmoja alikuwa mahili kwenye soil mechanics na akawa anafanya karibu consultancy zote za stuctures kubwa kubwa. Yeye yule Dr wakati anafanya kweli kwenye practicals, na kujiingizia kipato, alibaki kuwa assistant lecturer kwa muda mrefu. Alichokuwa anafanya kuna maprofessor walikuwa wanavikimbia.

    Come on guys, GPA is one thing and delivering outstanding results is completely another. Kitu cha kuangalia sana ni kutojidumaza kusolve madesa na kusahau kudevelop skillls za kuwa learners.Hapo tutakuwa tumekosea sana na tutaendeleza wimbo ule ule uliozoeleka kwamba serikali haiwajali engineers. Kama wao hawajijari nani unafikiri atawajari.

    We earn most of the good things in life. They never come kama gifts.

    Kama mtu anatafuta u-engineer, hana budi kuelewa vitu na kuvitumia kuboresha maisha ya watanzania. Experience inaonesha wale waliofanya vizuri darasani sio necessarily good performers at work. Hii sio kwenye fani ya uhandisi tu. Hata katika fani nyingine - the same applies.

    Hapo ndipo paliposababisha nilete hoja hii. Kuna baadhi ya lectures wanafundisha chuo X as emloyees na chuo kingine Y as part time. Lakini kama ni tabia ya lecturer kuwa mgumu kutoa marks vizuri, kwa nini afanye hivyo upande mmoja? Au kama ni ufundishaji mzuri/mbaya, kwa nini utokee hivyo upande mmoja?
