IPC Acquisition of Dowans Power Plant in Tanzania

IPC today announces that its Cyprus based affiliate, IPC Independent Power Corporation (Cyprus) Limited has entered into an agreement to acquire the Dowans Power Plant in Tanzania with an installed capacity of 112 MW.
IPC is one of the United Kingdom's leading developers and operators of power plants. Since it was founded fifteen years ago by Colin Moynihan, British Energy Secretary under Margaret Thatcher and John Major, and Peter Earl, an investment banker, IPC has developed, owned or operated more than 4,000 MW of thermal and hydro plant. It has operated power capacity for British Petroleum and the Ras al Khaimah Investment Authority. IPC has spun off two regional power companies serving Latin America and South Africa both of which are quoted on the London Stock Exchange. Rurelec PLC is the largest British power company in Latin America with some 700 MW of installed capacity. IPSA Group PLC owns and operates South Africa's first gas fired power plant which is also the countrys first combined cycle plant.
IPC today has operating contracts in Argentina, Bolivia and the United Arab Emirates and is developing some 1,500 MW of new gas fired capacity in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Moldova and the United Kingdom.

It is amazingly to hear such information,I can't believe,how come the company which spurked off contradictions and misunderstanding amang Tanzanians was on sale!!
