May I propose that if the reports that we have been receiving in the past few hours on the forceful removal and displacement of dead bodies from a mortuary in Tarie by the police are indeed true, then the line between decence and chaos has been crossed and the wall of division between law enforcement and anarchy has been breached. My friends, the prudence that exist and is presumed to exist in civility has once again been shattered. Bob Marley in his "Redemption Song" cried echoing what some of ua are crying today "How long shall they kill our prophets while we stand this side and look?"
There is no excuse whatsoever barring a dully acquired court order for the police - who stand accused-to be involved in affairs of a mourning Tanzanian family.
So, whatever happened in Tarime overnight calls for condemnation in strongest terms possible and demand immediate accountability of the officers involved. This includes the immediate resignations of the following:
The Minister for Internal Affairs
The Inspector General of Police
The Zonal Commander for Tarime
The Chief of operation who supervised these illegal and immoral actions.
No more should Tanzanian blood be shed arbitrarily at the end of the State.
