    ULAJI wa nyama nyekundu hasa ya ng'ombe, pamoja na maharage mekundu ni sababu kubwa zinazosababisha magonjwa ya magoti na viungo.

    Sababu nyingine zinazo sababisha ugonjwa huo, ni pamoja na kuwa na uzito mkubwa pamoja na kutofanya mazoezi.

    Hayo yamesemwa juzi na Mtaalam wa Mifupa na Viungo wa Hosptali ya Aga Khan ya jijini Dar es Salaam Dk Sohail Panawala alipokuwa akizungumza na waandishi wa habari.

    Tofauti na imani ya watu wengi kuwa nyama ya Mbuzi ndiyo husababisha magonjwa ya miguu, Dk Panawala alisema, "Ulaji wa nyama nyekundu na hasa nyama ya Ng'ombe uwezekano wa kuwa na matatizo ya miguu ni mkubwa sana,".

    Mtaalam huyo ambaye toka aingie nchini mwezi Februari mwaka huu, ameshafanya upasuaji kwa zaidi ya wagonjwa 100 na wengine wengi kupatiwa matibabu yasiyo husisha upasuaji.

    Alisema kutokana na ukubwa wa tatizo la miguu na viungo nchini, mara kadhaa hulazimika kuwa na kliniki ya bure ya mifupa na miguu, ili kutaka kubadilishana mawazo na wagojwa pamoja na matibabu.

    Dk Panawala pia alionya juu ya matumizi ya madawa ya kupunguza maumivu, kuwa ni hatari na kuwa huzalisha magojwa mengine.

    "Unajua madawa yote yana kemikali na kawaida ya kemikali huwa na madhara (side effect) katika mwili wa binaadamu, tatizo la watu kutumia madawa ya kupunguza maumivu lipo duniani kote lakini ni bora mtu ukiumwa mara moja aende hospitalini ama katika kituo cha afya apate matibabu," alisema Dk Panawala.

    Hospitali hiyo ya Aga Khan pia, imefanikiwa kuwafanyia upasuaji wa ubongo, zaidi ya wagonjwa 20 kwa kipindi cha miezi minne.
    Mbali na wagonjwa hao, waliopatiwa fanyiwa upasuaji pia wagonjwa wengine zaidi ya 200, wamefanyiwa vipimo mbali mbali vikiwemo vya ubongo na uti wa mgongo.

    Mwishowe atatokea mwingine atasema kuishi ni hatari kwa afya! Too much wanataka tunywe maji tu tulale....inawezekanaje? Maharage ndio mboga yetu ya kujidai uswazi..........wanataka tule nini?

    Maharage yajulikana kama Mboga ya Taifa maana mashule yoooote, magereza, na hata mahospitali ya G ndo mboga yao. si tulikuwa twala maharage mara saba kwa wiki shuleni, ikibadilishwa basi ni mapande ya kabichi ya kwa taaabu sana "SUPU" sio nyama ni supu maana ikiwa siku ya nyama (ambayo ni mara moja kwa mwezi ama kwa temu) ni kasheshe, labda tatizo kubwa lilikuwa ni kuona usiku maana kuna jamaa ilikuwa ikifika jioni tu basi inabidi umshike mkono kumrejesha bwenini, ila sijawai kuona ama kusikia magonjwa ya miguu.

    Huyu Dr ataka kutuulia mboga zetu, maana uswazi mbali ya sukuma wiki ni nyama na maharage tu ndo zinatamba.

    Labda angeenda mbele zaidi kwa kutuambia madhara hayo yanaanza kujitokeza baada ya mda gani vinginevyo mi nahisi analake jambo....tumekuzwa na maharage wengi wetu na bado ndo mboga kubwa kwetu so far!!!

    nyama naweza kukubaliana nae...si nzuri kwa afya!!!

    Kama ni kwenye suala la maharage nadhani tungekuwa na matatizo hayo muda mrefu, kwani maharage imekuwa ni sehemu ya maisha kama gesi ya oksijeni ilivyo ya muhimu.

    apparently kila tulacho ni sumu mi naona tuendeleee kula kula vyote tu...matokeo mbele kwa mbele. maan utaacha hiki kinadhuru mifupa , kingine kinaleta kansa, kingine swane flu, liver/kidney failure and so much more!!

    Wamasai, Wahadzabe etc wanakula nyama ya kuchoma miaka nenda rudi na bado hawalalamiki kuhusu gonjwa la gout. Tatizo linatokana na watu kutofanya mazoezi.

    Sawa nyama nyekundu na maharage (Leave alone mekundu) yana hatari kwa afya ya binadamu. Mganga wako huyo mkuu Mzizimkavu ama anakosea kuharamisha jumlajumla au waliomnukuu walinukuu jumlajumla.

    Hakuna kizuri kisichokuwa na ubaya; kama vile hakuna kibaya kisichokuwa na uzuri kabisa. Hata shetani pamoja na ubaya woooote tunaomsukumia, wapo wanaouona uzuri mwingi tu, japo kwa masharti pengine magumu kwa walio wengi kuyafikia.

    Nilitegemea kuelezwa kwa kina juu ya ubaya huo na pia nielezwe uzuri wake ili jamii isichanganyikiwe, kwani kumwambia mtoto sukari ni tamu haitoshi bila kumweleza hatari za sukari hiyo. Sawa na kuwaambia watu wasijamiiane usiwaambie hata mbadala ili wanachokipata katika kujamiiana wanawezaje kukipata kwa mbadala. Kuwaambia watapia mlo wale nyama kwa wingi na mayai na samaki ili kupata protein wni vema kabisa, hapo panatakiwa kuwaambia pia kwamba kiasi gani kinafaa. Hata ugali ukiula kupita kiasi ni sumu. Anything in excess is harmful, hata chai ukinywa kupita kiasi utalewa - cumulative effect ya constituents.

    Sukari ni nzuri na muhimu sana ikiwa frequency of intake is moderate. Ukitumia sukari kilo moja mara moja kwa siku uko salama zaidi kuliko anayetumia kilo moja hiyohiyo spread over 24 hours - mfano kutoboka meno (Dental caries). Wataalam watafiti wanasema sukari ikitumiwa zaidi ya mara tano kwa siku ni hatari kwa afya ya meno yako. lakini sukari ni carbohydrate inayohitajika sana kwa kuupa mwili nguvu. Mwenye kisukari ni hatari kutumia sukari aina ya sucrose au yoyote yenye kuongeza calories nyingi mwilini.

    Nyama na maharage ukiacha kula unapata utapiamlo wa aina ya protein. Kwashiokor ni jina walilopewa watapia mlo wa protein kule west Africa na likachukuliwa jumlajumla kwa watu wa aina hiyo wa duniani kote kwa marejeo ya bara la Afrika ambako watu wa aina hiyo ni wengi zaidi. Ukila kupita kiasi nyama nyekundu unajihatarishia gout na matatizo kadha mengine, maharage ukizidisha unajihatarishia ukubwa wa tatizo la vidonda vya tumbo (Peptic ulcers) inayochangiwa pia na ugumu wa gastric acid kuyeyusha maganda hayo ya maharage, inapotokea acid hiyo kutengenezwa kwa wingi ili kuyeyusha maharage hayo hujikuta mucus membrane ya njia ya chakula inadhoofishwa na hapo ni tatizo.

    Nimesema kwa kifupi tu kusisitizia kwamba wataalam tunawapotosha jamii tunapofyatua single sided maelezo juu ya vitu tunavyoelezea. Tujifunze basi kuelezea faida na hasara ya kila tunachokisemea ili watu wanaotusikiliza wapate nafasi ya kuchagua in a radical manner.

    Taarifa hiyo iliyoletwa ni nzuri kwa kuwa inatufanya kupata kitu cha kujadili, lakini inawavua nguvu ya kutafakari walioko nje ya fani ya afya ambao tunayo dhamana kwao kuwaelimisha na wala sio kupigia debe upande mmoja kama vile wanasiasa wanavyotaka tumchague mmoja tu anayeelezwa kwa uzuri wake na wala hajisemei ni mbaya kiasi gani ili tumpime kwenye mizani kabla ya kumchagua. Ndio maana siasa sio professionalism ya ukweli japo nayo ni science.

    Huyo mhindi si anaabudu ng'ombe? Watu wamekula nyama na maharage miaka nenda rudi na wameishi miaka kibao. Cha msingi kile ulacho ukifanyie kazi. Huyo dokta anasema kafanyia upasuaji watu zaidi ya mia. Aangalie aina ya hospitali na wanaoenda hapo kupata tiba atagundua ni vibosile wenye muda wa kula tu lakini hawana muda wa mazoezi. Nyama na maharage vitaliwa siku zote. Kesho watasema samaki si wazuri sababu maji ya bahari si salama
