(KickStart). The organization is recruiting for a qualified, enthusiastic Country Accountant. This person will be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and will report to the Country Director. The Country Accountant is responsible for assisting the Country Director in running and continually improving the organizations Financial and Accounting needs in Tanzania. Principle Accountabilities 1. Review and issue Financial guidelines 2. Assist the Country Director in ensuring that Project monitoring and reporting activities are streamlined in accordance with set guidelines, results are accurately measured, constraints identified hence decisions are made & results measured based on accurate information and data. 3. As the Certifying Officer, the position will always attest that the charges or claim being made on any payment can properly be recorded against the relevant organizations budget allocation and that funds are available in that allocation to justify that charge or claim; and that all basic supporting documents are available to effect such payment(s) and that the goods or services for which payment is claimed have been received or rendered in accordance with the terms of the contract or obligation; that payment has not previously been made; and that no other information is available which would bar the payment(s). 4. Be responsible for the administration of all Country office financial manuals and advise on any matter not fully covered in these manuals or needing update so that they are referred to the Board for appropriate action(s) Key Performance Criteria 1. Stability and integrity of financial systems. 2. Timely production of financial reports 3. Ensure streamlining of procedure while maintaining acceptable financial controls and procedures 4. Team performance and individuals development. 5. Effective management of budgets and cash flow Skills and Competencies 1. Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting Option with 3 years post qualification experience 2. Planning, organizational and analytical skills and a team player 3. Knowledge of ERP accounting software 6. Must have in depth understanding of the systems used in accounting 7. Expertise in stock control 8. Sharp IT skills / use of IT for presentation 9. Hands on and self driven Whats in it for you?
