Ukija kwenye ma tender ndiyo usiseme kabisa, China haina muda itaifunika Marekani kiuchumi.

Japan is better off in all the three.

Na huu ndio mwanzo ni kwamba in the long run Asia will take over its just a matter of time..., The same ingefanyika Africa kama tungekuwa na Akili za kutafuta kuliko kuoneana wivu na kujigawa kwa matabaka ambayo hayana msingi

kaka

true to some extent but not necessarily the case always, labour cost is measured by the uotput the worker produces.

mfano mtu mmoja kwenye nchi ambazo zinatoa cheap labour anaweza kutumia masaa kadhaa kutengeneza bidhaa chache, wakati huo huo mtu mmoja in the west can produce twice the same products in half an hour due to modern machines.

kwa hiyo the 'output' in the west is much more efficient due to the machine and it compensates the higher wages.

Mkuu take a look at UK for example...., all the manufacturing industries have failed and have moved to other countries.., Nike Adidas (they are american products) lakini zinatengenezwa India Taiwan etc. Computers (Dell Compaq etc) most the take them to be assembled in China..., Mkuu Machines or no Machines its cheaper to produce in Asia than Europe or America..., they have technical know how, and it is easy to set up a company in Asia

hila hiyo sio sababu pekee, na viwanda in the west havijashindwa kabisa. Hila tamaa imeachiwa mno ndio imewaponza wachache waweze ku-exploit foreign workforce.

Moja ya sababu nyingine kuhamisha viwanda ni kupunguza immigration ya kuja kufanya kazi za cheap labour in the west: Kazi ambazo wazawa hawazitaki.

Pili greedyness ya kutotaka ku-spread the wealth by paying people low wages, since people have other options such as benefits to pay for their roofs and food. What is the point of poor people wasting their 'forty hours' a week only to end up with 20 bucks better off, after the necessary expendetures.

Ndio maana sasa the new rationing mechanism ina aim kufanya watu wachukue low paid jobs by subsidising their housing bills, so that people are left better of with work rather than benefits.

Na hizi austerity measures zimeacha wengi bila ya ajira, plan ni kwamba wanataka kurudisha manufacturing back in the west and the only possible way is to make people accept those low paying jobs in the first place. Ndio wanakuja na sera mpya za kuweka unafuu kwa watu wenye kipato cha chini by subsidizing life cost na kupunguza watu makazi kwenye malipo ya serikali: along the way they are hoping some of those people would turn into entreprenuers and create their own wealth and employment.

Walijisahau wakawa wana concentrate much on finance and services to propel their economy especially in England rather than manufacturing and it his biting them now, lakini si kusema they failed as industrialists.

Japan confirms China surpassed its economy in 2010

TOKYO - Japan confirmed Monday that China's economy surpassed its own as the world's second largest in 2010 and said a late-year downturn was Japan's first quarterly contraction in more than a year.
Japan's real GDP expanded 3.9 percent in the calendar year in the first annual growth in three years, but it wasn't enough to hold off a surging China. Japan's nominal GDP last year came to $5.4742 trillion, less than China's total of $5.8786 trillion, the Cabinet Office said.
Gross domestic product shrunk at an annualized rate of 1.1 percent in the October-December quarter, a sharp reversal from a revised 3.3 percent expansion in the third quarter, the government said.
A slowdown in exports and weaker consumer demand at home led to the unsurprising downturn, which is expected to be temporary. The result was better than Kyodo news agency's average market forecast of an annualized 2.2 percent decline.
China was acknowledged last year as having grown to the world's second-largest economy, but the Japanese data confirming it were not available until Monday. The switch underscores the nations' stark contrasts: China is growing rapidly and driving the global economy, while Japan is struggling with persistent deflation, an aging population and ballooning public debt.
Prime Minister Naoto Kan has pledged to revive the economy and make major reforms in the country's tax and social welfare systems.
His approval ratings are eroding quickly, however, as voters question his government's ability to lead the country through its pressing problems.
The fourth-quarter figure translates to a 0.3 percent fall from the previous three-month period, according to the Cabinet Office's preliminary data. Consumer spending, which accounts for some 60 percent of GDP, fell 0.7 percent. Auto sales slumped during the quarter after government subsidies for "green" vehicles expired in September.
Exports fell 0.7 percent from the previous quarter amid a strong yen and waning global demand. A rise in the Japanese currency reduces the value of exporters' profits overseas and makes Japanese goods pricier in foreign markets.
The road ahead looks brighter, with economists saying GDP will expand this quarter in tandem with global growth. The head of Japan's central bank, Masaaki Shirakawa, said last week that that recent signs indicate Japan is emerging from the "pause" and performing at par with other advanced economies.
Ryutaro Kono, chief economist at BNP Paribas in Tokyo, says exports and production have escaped their "soft patches."
"The economy seems to be recovering again from December, so the negative growth in (the fourth quarter) need not become the basis for pessimism about Japan's cyclical outlook," he said in a report this month.

Most economists agree that while China as a whole is growing, and the average person is getting wealthier, comparing only the size of its economy to Japan's does not paint an accurate enough picture.

"GDP per head in China is about $4,500, but in Japan it's about $40,000 per head," said Mr Miller of GK Dragonomics.

"Most people in China are still poor, more people live in the countryside than in cities. The average Japanese person is much much richer than the average Chinese person."

Whole picture

Most economists agree that while China as a whole is growing, and the average person is getting wealthier, comparing only the size of its economy to Japan's does not paint an accurate enough picture.

"Most people in China are still poor, more people live in the countryside than in cities," said Mr Miller of GK Dragonomics.

"The average Japanese person is much much richer than the average Chinese person."

The International Monetary Fund estimates that GDP per head of the population is almost $34,000 in Japan, while in the People's Republic of China it is just over $7,500.

siku moja nikiwa nchi fulani ya Asia niliangalia comentary moja kwenye TV walikuwa wanajadili mada ya THE SHIFTING OF GLOBAL POWERS TO THE EAST. yaliyoibuka huko ni wazi kuwa in few decades to come, the east will be leading the world in almost everything! ingawa walijikita zaidi kiuchumi, hususani maendeleo ya viwanda, sayansi na echnolojia, lakini ilikuwa wazi kuwa the west has become too old to compete against the eastern highly cherishing enthusiasm for growth and prosperity
