    Napenda kutambulisha kwenu uanzishwaji wa jumuiya inayoitwa BONGO SCIENCE, au kwa kifupi BS..

    Katika kipindi hiki ambapo nchi nyingi duniani zimekuwa zikifanikiwa kwa kutumia ipasavyo technolojia na sayansi, kuna haja ya sisi kukaa chini na kutafakari na kuchukua hatua juu ya nini tunatakiwa kufanya ili kuinua maendeleo ya technolojia katika nchi yetu Tanzania..

    Kwa kipindi hiki cha karibuni, tumeshuhudia wanafunzi wakifeli sana, hasa kwenye masomo kama hesabu na mengine ya sayansi..

    Kwanza tujiulize, tatizo ni nini?? Then tutafute dawa ya huu ugonjwa.

    Katika dunia ya sasa, maendeleo ya ki-technolojia yanaambatana na kuwepo na wanataaluma mahiri katika nyanja mbali mbali za technolojia.. Pia tunatambua ya kuwa maendeleo ya nchi yanaambatana na uwepo wa technolojia..

    Kwa kuanzia, mwanataaluma ameamua kuja na BONGO SCIENCE itakayowaunganisha wanataaluma wachanga na wakubwa katika kubadilishana maoni na kuchukua hatua juu ya uendelezwaji wa technolojia katika nchi yetu Tanzania..

    Sasa huu ni mwanzo, ila lengo hasa ni kuweza kuwafikia wanafunzi wa Secondary na vyuoni ili kutafuta ufumbuzi wa jinsi ya kuinua wanasayansi wa Tanzania..

    Je, nini kifanyike hasa? Tupeane maoni, na tuchukue hatua..

    Nashukuru... Nilichokifanya, ni mchakato wa kuanzisha hiyo jumuiya ya wanasayansi.. Lengo ni kuwafikia hasa wanafunzi wa secondary ambao kwa kiwango kikubwa wengi wanakuwa hawana msingi unaofaa kupambana katika elimu ya juu..

    Pia, kuna wanafunzi walio na akili nzuri sana, ila wanakosa muongozo wa kuwafanya wajitambue na wachukue hatua gani ili kuinua vipaji vyao..

    Ndo maana nimetoa wazo na nimeomba maoni.. Hii, si kwa faida yangu au yako, bali kwa watu wote kwa ujumla.. Mie nimeomba mawazo ya kwamba, tufanyajee??

    Lakini pia tutambue ya kwamba, shule nyingi za sasa (nyingi za serikalini), zinajali sana mfumo wa "Exam Oriented", bila kujali mfumo wa "Concept/Talent Oriented"

    They don't care on how perfect are their students in their subjects.. They only care how much they got on their final examz.. Tumeshuhudia wizi wa mitihani na mambo yanayofanana na hayo..

    Tujiulize? Kwa nini mtu aibe mtihani? Jibu ni Kufaulu mtihani bila kujali kama wewe umeelewa vya kutosha katika masomo yako..

    Kwa mazingira hayo, tunajenga taifa gani?? Nina mifano mingi tu ya jinsi mfumo wetu ulivyo mbovu, hata kwa shule wanazoziita za Vipaji..

    Kwa hiyo tujadili kuhusu BS (Bongo Science), je tufanye nini??

    Tatizo kubwa ni watu kukosa ubunifu hasa hasa wale walio kwenye nafasi za kufanya maamuzi.

    Mfano mdogo tu Hivi kwa nini hata shule za mijini kama dar, mwanza arusha dodoma,ect wajifunze practical za chemistry, biology, physics kwa notes.

    Jibu Jepesi wanasema hakuna maabara kama zipo wanasema maabara hazina vifaa.

    Je Kuna kiongozi yeyote mbunifu amewai kuagiza shule za sekondari zitumie video zilizopo yotube wanafaunzi waone japo hizo practical katika picha? Hakuna

    Kuna ugumu gani mtaalamu mmoja akatafuta video nzuri na kuzithibitisha kwa matumuzi ya ufundishaji.? Sioni Ugumu wowote ugumu uliopo ni mawazo mgando

    Kama Video za youtube hazina viwango kwa nini wizara isitafute walimu wa chache ikawarekodi wakifanya baadhi ya practical za muhimu na wizara ikasambaza copy za video hizo na kugawa laptop na projector kwa kila shule.

    Inachekesha kusikia wanasia wanasema laptop kwa kila mwanafuzi wakati shule za sekondari hazina laptop wala projector.

    Je mitaala ya kufunfudishia unaagiza walimu watumie nyenzo gani?
    Sitashangaa kuona nyezo na vifaa vinavyoelekewa na kuagizwa kwenye mitaala ya wizara ya elimu ni zile zile zilizokuwa mwaka 1970.

    Kwa nini Maabara zisizo na vifaa za shule zisibadilishwe kuwa Information center. Maabara moja inafungwa internet anakuwepo mtaalamu wa kuwasadi wanafuzi wa sekodari kutafuta taarifa za kimasomo zinazokwenda na wakati.

    Je wizara imewasaidiaje kuwa elimisha walimu wa sayasani umuhimu wa internet kuziba mashim pale walipo na uhaba wa nyenzo.?

    Kwa nini maktaba zetu zenye vitabu vya zamani zisiwe na kitengo cha Information. Kwa nini maktaba zetu hazina electronic book zinazopatikana kwa bei nafuu na haziwezi kuibiwa wala kuchanika.

    Ukiondoa tatizo la ubunifu tatizo lingine ni sisi kizazi cha sasa. hatutoi ushauri. Kwenye taasisi nyingi za serikali kuna vijana vichwa vyao vina mawazo mazuri lakini hawayawakilishi kiofisi sababu tu wao sio viongozi. Naomba vijana wote kama una wazo zuri usiogope kumwambia mkuu wako kimaandishi. Wazo kukataliwa sio udhaifu.

    Kama mtaalam wa ICT naona sekata hii ina provide opportunity nyingi kusaidia kupunguza weakness kwenye quality delivery ya elimu lakini hatujazitumia.

    Excellent Ideas ya kutumia ICT katika sekta ya elimu. Pendekezo langu tu ni kwamba, tusiisubiri serikali kuyafanya haya, angalia tu announcements wanazozitoa kwa umma "Laptop kwa kila mwanafunzi" wakati wote tunajua kuwa the basics za kuruhusu such an implementation bado hazijawekwa sawa. On that note, nadhani the private sector itoe changamoto kwa hili jambo, once a viable solutions to these problems has been found, then and only then will a government led resolution based on partnership with the solution providers be meaningful.

    Laptop kwa kila mwanafunzi:- still amazed by this... approx 1M Secondary students, approx 100K Higher education students and I guess several million primary education students. Did someone actually have a calculator and did the sums for the outlay before it was deemed fit for public airing?

    Einstein, this idea is A1, na kwa mchango wangu, knowledge transfer that should be achieved by attending an education institution is currently larking a crucial element:- Teachers and facilities.

    On the count of teachers, I mean mwalimu ambaye anaifahamu kwa undani fani yake na ambaye anawatayarisha wanafunzi kuelewa hiyo fani. This is totally different from exam-led teaching and different to elevation of unqualified personnel to take up positions in teaching. When you teach, the exam part becomes painless to the student because they will be using their knowledge to solve the problem. If this was not part of the learning then, a student would need to be spoon-fed answers to a string of words they are familiar with from a supposedly stolen exam paper.
    The query hence is on the available of such creed of teaching professionals. Again, I will put forward an argument that ndio kuna walimu ambao wanaifahamu fani yao inside out, but are they imparting this knowledge accordingly to their students?

    On resources, basi hapa ndipo issue inapojionyesha. Jamii huko vijijini wengi tu wamejikuta wakihamasishwa kuchangia costs za madarasa na mambo mengineyo. Sasa kuna hiki kitu kinaitwa MDG (Millennium Development Goal) ambayo kwa nchi ya Tanzania walichangiwa pesa za infrastructure development, ambayo I will assume meant Classes, Labs etc. Kenya on the other hand got free education since it was deemed that the infrastructure part walikuwa wameshaiweza. Sasa swali ni hivi, MDG Tanzania imefikia wapi, hizo pesa zimeishia wapi? Kabla hatujahamasishwa tena kuchangia maabara, MDG Tanzania inabidi tujue wamefikia wapi on infrastructure.

    On call for formation on a forum Bongo Science, I second the call by Mtangazaji of making use of ICT to disperse the knowledge especially for science subjects that require a practical element. Properly developed learning resources targeting Tanzania Syllabus could be made available to schools and colleges for students and teachers use. Lets not wait on broadband for this since upload and download costs discussed elsewhere in this forum associated with the cafe business has been covered extensively hence a solution based on removable media, Hard Disk Drives, CD-Roms, DVD-Roms, USB should be considered.
    On who can deal with this I am resolute that the private sector should run with this. I was 7yrs old when I first queried in my little mind why I had to sit on the dirt floor at school and now nearing retirement still hear woes on lack of same in many schools, even in urban towns, so wouldn't expect a universal government led initiative will happen soon enough.
