    Beware of this product.

I was shopping last night (25th of May) at Midway Supermarket in Saar Bahrain and noticed this product on the shelves. I took two of them and casually walked away. On the way to the counter I started to read the ingredients and was surprised to see it containing PORK. I went back to shelves doubting myself to check if I took it from the Pork Section (as major supermarkets in the Kingdom separate pork containing products from the halal products) but there was no labelling as such on the soup and was clearly mixed with all the others.

I wonder how many people took this product unknowingly.

P.S The supermarket removed the product from the shelves after i had told them

i think we are too angry for no godamn reason...mostly due to lack of understanding,
why would somebody buy konokono if he doesn't eat konokono?...and why wouldn't Chinese sell konokono, nyoka or panya to people who like them?..it's all about food habits and people got to understand it,i have a lot of friends who eat anything, including those konokono and they're no different or whatever, food has nothing to do with who people are,and so far, never never think that in Tanzania or Yemen whatever the place there are no such kind of people who eat konokono, for them it's delicious, just the same way that sangara is to most of us!
As long as we can read and see,i don't know where all of this anger is coming from,...if one business is not halali for one to undertake,it's likely as well that it's the other way around to other people. This is 21st century,we are more interacting than ever, that's why you feel much more the effect of chinese people on your backdoor,And you know what?Everybody everywhere feel that right now,Chinese People are a billion business minded people!...Just got the facts right, buy what you wanna buy, people are getting more intelligent now and so you have to get smart too, when it comes to buying and you know that you have some restrictions when it comes to food,READ WELL!..EAT WELL!

    Beware Of Junk Food Marketeers

(CBS) Who’s to blame for the growing child obesity epidemic in America?

According to a new report from the Center For Science In The Public Interest (CSPI), some of the biggest culprits are companies that specifically market junk food to kids.

The CSPI is the group that pointed out the hidden fat in popcorn and in Mexican food. Now, its focus is fast-food marketing that targets children.

Michael Jacobson, the group’s executive director, says the group's goal is to promote kids' health by protecting them from junk-food marketers who target them.

He says on The Early Show, “We have such a tremendous problem with obesity in this country that leads to high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, just terrible diseases and all kinds of other problems. We’ve got to protect kids. Instead, our country has allowed junk-food marketers - and not just fast-food companies, but sugary cereals and high-in-calorie chips - to target kids.

"They do it on Saturday morning television. They have vending machines in schools. Practically every brand-name product has a Web site and kids-oriented products have Web sites and games and other things to entice kids and get kids to want those products.

"And then they put the products in fast food outlets, everywhere: shopping centers, airports, even in thousands of schools. Our society has to stop that,” he says.

Even though parents do have a big responsibility to ensure their kids eat healthy meals, Jacobson says, “All of this marketing put parents in a very unfair position. Companies are going directly to kids and saying, 'Eat this, eat this, drink this, drink this, it’s yummy - you’ll love it.' Parents have to say 'No, no, no,' and how many parents say no a thousand times?”

He emphasizes that even if parents lead by example in eating healthy, it is still unfair to allow companies with sleek campaigns to undermine parental authority.

Jacobson says, “ Twenty-five years ago, the government tried to get junk food advertising off of children’s television, but they were stopped by the toy industry, the food industry, the broadcasting industry and the advertising industry. It’s time to take another crack at that.”
