BAE Systems appeared at London's Westminster magistrates court charged with failing to keep proper records relating to payments for two contracts for an air traffic control system in Tanzania.

BAE's lawyer David Perry said the firm will enter a guilty plea next month in the case that has been brought by the Serious Fraud Office.

The group (down 7.1p at 338.8p) entered into the plea bargain with the SFO earlier this year. Sentencing should take place at Southwark Crown Court on December 20.
