Steve D upo?...:)

Aah, i said it b4, THenry alikuwa ana discourage wenzake, he wasnt captain material...maana akibanwa, mood yake inachange, head down, inawa-affect wote.....hii ilithibitishwa last season, sema tu Arsenal walipompoteza Van Persie January ndio timu ikaonekana butu...even then, the team was good enough without TH.
Lakini nadhani crucial matches ni timu kama Everton, West Ham, Villa, Sunderland...hizo tukizibamiza, then all is good. Maana timu kama Sunderland watacheza kuharibu passing game, so we need to see Arsenal coping with teams that dont wanna allow them play (like Blackburn).

mzuka unapanda ......mzuka unashuka, kwa kweli arsenal ni chama la ushindi kwa sasa na timu ovyo km bolton na wenzake, hao watakuwa wanagawa pointi kwetu.

NATAMANI JANA NDIO INGEKUWA ARSENAL VS CHELSEA HALAFU NDIO WAWE PUNGUFU KIVILE YAANI TUNGEWAPIGA WIKI(7)

Gunners cash in to top rich list and break £200m barrier

Annual financial report reveals every Arsenal home game generates £3.1m

Arsenal today revealed their status as Britain's richest football club following figures released this morning which show their move to the Emirates Stadium helped increase turnover to more than £200m.
The report - for the year ending May 31, 2007 - also revealed group operating profits up by an astonishing 274%, to £51.2m. These well exceed the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, whose respective turnover for the same period was £167.8m and £152.8m. This morning's announcement also rockets Arsenal into the same financial league as Real Madrid, whose turnover was £202m for the 2005-06 season.

Arsenal's move to their new 60,000-seater home from Highbury has proved more than a financially sound decision, with the long-term debt related to the move having also been refinanced into bonds which provide "a significant reduction" in annual service costs. The club generated match-day revenues of £90.6m in their first season, representing some £3.1m-per-game, which was more than double that of Highbury.
Meanwhile, some 91% of the units at The Stadium - Highbury Square redevelopment are already pre-sold, with final completion sales expected to comfortably exceed £300m.

Arsenal - currently top of the Premier League - saw their cash balances up to £73.9m, from £35.6m in 2006. The figures are "before player trading and depreciation", and as such do not take into account the £16m sale of Thierry Henry to Barcelona during the summer or other recent transfer dealings as manager Arsène Wenger reshaped his squad. They would also more than back up the stance of the current board that the club does not need a wealthy backer to compete with the best.

The Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov increased his shareholding in the club last week via Red and White Holdings Limited to around 21%, which makes the investment company Arsenal's second-largest shareholder behind director Danny Fiszman. Meanwhile, American billionaire Stan Kroenke remains another significant investor, with a stake of just over 12%.

"The best way that Arsenal can continue to deliver success is by maintaining a business that pays its own way," said Arsenal's chairman Peter Hill-Wood. "This philosophy helped establish our objectives for the club's move away from Highbury and Emirates Stadium now provides Arsenal with the increased income, profitability, cash generation and firm financial foundations from which we will continue to build trophy-winning Arsenal teams for many years to come. We have always pursued, and intend to continue with, a policy of re-investing profits and surplus cash into team development."

Arsenal bullish over £200m income

Arsenal's move to the Emirates Stadium has reaped rewards
Arsenal claim their new position as Britain's richest football club shows they do not need foreign investment.
Latest figures reveal the club's turnover has broken the £200m barrier after the move to the Emirates Stadium.

"These results demonstrate we really don't need any outside investment," managing director Keith Edelman told BBC Radio 5live.

"We secured all the players we wanted in the summer and manager Arsene Wenger did not spend his budget."

The Gunners have been subject to takeover rumours after Alisher Usmanov increased his share in the club to 21%.

The Uzbek businessman's company, Red and White, is chaired by former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein, who claims foreign investment is needed to compete with the likes of Chelsea.

But Edelman told the BBC: "We are looking at a position where we don't believe we need additional monies.

Arsenal insist there has never been a problem for Wenger if he wants to go into the transfer market

"We had £73.9m cash at the year's end and we are telling people today we've got increased cash balances at this juncture."

The move to the new stadium from Highbury means the Gunners are generating more than £3m a game.

A statement from the Arsenal Supporters' Trust said the group was delighted with the club's current financial position.

"These results are a testament to the success of the Emirates project. These results are the fruits of opening the new stadium on time and on budget," the statement read.

"The club have sown the seeds for a bright new future.

"The AST studies carefully the different models of how football clubs are run. Arsenal's model, based on sensible borrowing to invest in facilities that generate an increased income stream, is a model we commend.

"AST reiterates its opposition to any hostile takeover at Arsenal."

BBC sports editor Mihir Bose says Arsenal can now argue that this brings them into the big league of European earners, just behind Real Madrid.

"Manchester United will have to put on another £32m from last year to match the Gunners - Chelsea will have to show an increase of nearly £50m; Liverpool £80m and Tottenham £127m to match Arsenal," stated Bose.

He added that Arsenal project that the "Emirates effect will continue to produce vast sums of money for years".

And on David Dein's ambitions?

"One well-placed Emirates source told me: 'David always sees himself as number one. He wants to be chairman. The Arsenal board puts Arsenal first. They see themselves as the custodians of the club. That is the difference'," said Bose.
