ARDHI University will on Saturday mark another milestone in the countrys education profile when new six degrees in different science disciplines will be awarded. The Vice Chancellor of Ardhi University, Professor Idrissa Mshoro announced this new development when addressing reporters in Dar es Salaam on Friday.History is in the making. We are proud of this, he said adding that the university is the first in the country to offer the degrees. He mentioned the degrees as Construction Management, Geoinformatics, Geodetic Sciences, Real Estate Finance and Investment, Property Facilities and Management and Municipal and Industrial Services Engineering. A total of 371 will be awarded various degrees including 10 diplomas, 320 bachelors degree, 14 postgraduate diplomas, 25 Masters Degree and two PhD. Of the graduands, 71 are women while 300 are men. Professor Mshoro said that a total of 2,866 students have been enrolled in the 2010/2011 academic year which is an increase of 33 per cent, compared to those enrolled in 2009/10, and an increase of 94 per cent compared to those enrolled in 2007/08, when the University was established as an autonomous institution. He said expansion of students enrolment programme has been made possible after the introduction of eight new academic programmes confirmed by the Universitys Senate last year and that of this year. Also, the University has continued to offer consultancies in 2009/10 to various clients, 50 for public sector and 19 for the private sector.
