While not being exactly politically correct (hip hop is not known for political correctness by the way) once again Sugu is pushing the envelope of acceptability.

Mimi nilisema siku nyingi tu hapa kwamba Clouds ni vitoko, lakini hata kwa mie ninaejua kwamba Clouds ni vitoko tu, kama robo ya madai ya Sugu yanabeba ukweli, basi matatizo ya Clouds ni makubwa kuliko nilivyofikiria.

Ningetaka kusema kwamba ameweka precedent, lakini kuna mchizi mmoja alishatoa rekodi kama hii kumtukana Miraji Kikwete (I forgot that kids name) so as far as a diss record is concerned this is not precedent setting, the magnitude of the importance of this release comes in the fact that the battle is depicted in a deeper depth than a personal beef, and for those who can infer from the between the lines innuendos, even the Kikwete presidency is not spared indirect jabs.

The lack of concern for censorship and blatant profanity can be viewed in two ways, for those who are of a more conservative persuasion while still identifying with Mr. 2's irritations, they are wishing the presentation was a tad bit cleaner, if only to readily reach a bigger audience that may not be familiar with the role of that language in the hip hop world.The more liberal crowd would argue that the language is called for, and profanity assumes the nature of profanity only when it is uncalled for, and when someone is profaning for legitimate reasons, profanity actually assumes the role of part of speech expressing the right degree of anger and frustration.

The politically correct crowd could argue naming names of alleged HIV carriers was a below the belt hit, and I can understand why.But Sugu according to his allegation, did not simply go against somebody with HIV, but somebody who is knowingly spreading HIV and using his celebrity in the inhuman enterprise of infecting unsuspecting people. Provided the allegations are factual, Sugu emerges as a social commentator who is sailing the uncharted seas in Tanzania, I am trying to recall a more blunt attack of this nature 9deliberate spread of HIV) and I am drawing a blank.

I suppose critics can always depict this as a case of sour grapes after the recent brouhaha between Clouds and Sugu, if I didn't know about the despicable conduct at Clouds I would be tempted to say the same too, but I do know that Clouds is irredeemably rotten, and there is no conflict between Mr. 2 being self serving and at the same time telling the truth.

This was a much needed recording and it actually is long overdue.It took someone with the gravita and clout of Mr. 2 all these years to gain the composure and align the circumstances that made this possible.

To me this is bigger than Mr. 2, bigger than bongofleva/ hip hop.This is social commentary, this is the young people of Tanzania expressing anger and frustration from being yoked by the cabal of a few serf lords, and expressing that anger with no apology.

Is this the slow beginning of a docile populace waking up and fighting for that which is only rightfully theirs?

It remains to be seen, time will tell.

Mr II raised an issue that most of us have tried to play dead or blind, and its even worse when our beloved president is so close to people who have no morals kama hawa. everyday i wonder how our system is so weak and blind that cant even warn or averse JK to deal with such immoral pact... they are strategic yes, but at the expense of their brothers and sisters

How can we help Sugu to deliver the same message but reach both sets of audiences?? simple, just have two versions of the project... but second move [which is more important and is for us all], lets support the move to uncover this tatizo
