IN THE MISERY OF OUR POVERTY, WE HAVE FOUND SOLACE AND COMFORT!
    By. M. M. Mwanakijiji

    Happy New Year dear friends!

As I had expected I have read with disappointment the new year's greetings from President Kikwete as he welcomed the year 2010. Once again the illusion of promises has been elevated to promises of hope unrealized; once again our people are urged to look at numbers and statistics and from them understand development. Incompetence and mediocrity have been explained and defended by the promises of a better tomorrow.

Yes! the past four years have been in short, a waste. We have witnessed the policy of increasing in quantity and a decrease in quality. Our rulers have resorted in the policy of illusion by pushing and celebrating numbers and more numbers. How many things have been done, how many people have got what, etc; Just like the so called "accomplishments of the third phase government" President Kikwete and his supporters are pushing numbers to show us what they have "done"

Unfortunately for them, it is the same numbers that condemn them. The same numbers stand as indisputable witnesses of their failed and weak leadership.

As we move toward the General Elections later this year, the choice for us is very simple, to continue to look for quantity as we have done in the past or to dare to look for quality. Are we going to demand more primary schools that fail more or enough schools that offer quality education and teaching environment? Are we going to look for more generators for power production or are we going to demand better hydro-power production and new, better and sustainable power generation alternatives?

Are we going to ask for more people to be prosecuted for corruption even if the nature of the charges is mediocre and the prosecution case weak? Are we going to accept and celebrate mere numbers rather than actual successes that can be seen in the transformation of the people's daily lives?

Are we going to cheer new paved roads while the majority of the people walk and those who drive do so within one of the most corrupt traffic law enforcement agency? Are we going to pat each other on the back because electricity has finally come to our village while the people in the village are starving and their children suffer from malnutrition?

No sir; let those who want to celebrate numbers and quantity of unsustainable projects and unending ideas do so in their own misery; let those who jump for joy when they hear a new project is being officiated do so in the comfort of their own delusion; Let those who look for "how many and how much" do so in the deception of their own minds!!

But for us sir, we will dare to look beyond the numbers, we will dare to look at what is being produced or what is claimed to be an achievement; We will question its quality and how the said accomplishment is transforming for better our people's lives. We will dare to pry if the value correspond to the money spend. We will not just look at the law but even more at the morality and ethics of what is being done or has been done.

If JK and his supporters claim that a single house is worth one billion and a half TZ because some corrupt is entitle to it we will question what about that hospital in Temeke that doesn't have enough rooms for newly mothers to rest after giving birth? What about those young Tanzanians in Tarime, Muheza etc whose schools don't even have decent toilets? Don't they deserve some decency in their lives?

So, I have noticed something in President Kikwete's speech; there is no change in the future; nothing is going to change as long as he is the President or CCM the ruling part; His final words speak volume "Kesho, tunapouanza mwaka mpya, napenda kuwahakikishia kuwa mimi na wenzangu wote serikalini tutaendelea kuwatumikia kwa moyo wetu wote na nguvu zetu zote katika kuyatafutia majawabu matatizo yanayolikabili taifa letu. " that is "Tomorrow, as we begin the new year, I would like to assure that I and everyone in the government, will serve you with whole of our hearts and strengths in searching for the solutions to those problems that are facing our nation. I believe through our unity, dedication and knowledge we will succeed".

Yes indeed, the same promise of failed leadership; once again there are those among us whose hearts are stirred by words of comfort in poverty and amazingly the same people find solace in them. Not I, not I sire!

This year we will go beyond words; we will chatter the course of the new future, a future of our own liking. We will support those candidates who will stand for something bigger and better than promises of honey in the middle of the desert where people long for water! We will oppose all those stand for the same policies of a failed corrupt political regime; we will oppose its sworn defenders and those who stand to continue benefiting from the same.

For the new year has come, and with it a new determination and resolve to dismantle and finally throw in the unforgiving abyss of history that political regime that has ruled our country for many decades now and has created the tyranny of the minority. The tyranny that I believe will come to a screeching halt this year.

For there comes a time in history where the ruled would stand up and say no to their rulers; For us, this is the time and unto us history has chosen our side; we will seize this moment and not let it go without 'change' realized.

Agenda 2010 - Change is what we want, nothing less, nothing more for change is necessary and inevitable!

Be part of it or move aside...

Kudos Mwanakijiji. There we go hatuwezi kukubali Chama Cha Majambazi kiendelee kuiba keki ya taifa na kufaidi.

    Mwanakijiji,

    Thanks for your comment on JK's speech but could you make it in Swahili? sababu ni hii hapa;
    - i used to print your words na kuziacha au kushare na wanajamii wenzangu either kucha kwenye daladala au kuwalazimisha wasome wale ninaojua wanataka mabadiliko.
    - Ninapata challenge kubwa sana kuwashawishi watu either waupdate vote card zao au wachukue mpya.

WanaJF tulio nchini pamoja na chadema huu ndo wakati wakupita kwenye kanda husika kutoa elimu pamoja wa kuelimisha watu kuhusu umuhimu wa changes na haziji without registraring for next general election.

To start with, I Salute you Mzee Mwanakijiji with genuine respect, having knowing your political affiliation, CCM, and yet you have the guts to say this! You are a really 'dare devil'!

Ingawa ndani ya moyo wangu nakubaliana na wewe kwa asilimia 100%, being a realist, not a theorist, I'd like to differ with you on the timing, "The tyranny that I believe will come to a screeching halt this year", not this year Mzee, 'the time is too little too late' but safari ni hatua, hivyo tuianze safari this year ili huko mbele tuikamilishe safari.

Sorry to tell you my honest opinion which is the truth, the bitter reality so that when we fail this year, we won't get heart broken but rather the morale to fight more and more mpaka risasi ya mwisho na tone la mwisho la damu liwe limemwagika.

Nimesema not this year because I know where you are, mimi niko on the ground, on the really battle ground, I have witnessed this war with my own naked eyes, so I know what it takes to win this war, the time left is too little too late. Unless Mwanakijiji you come out with practical strategies no pressure for the level playing ground before October, other wise, huu ni ugomvi mwingine wa 'kunyang'anyana kisu, huku mmoja ameshika mpini, na mwingine kwenye makali'

Yes the ruled would stand up and say no to their rules, how would only a handful of people including you Mzee Mwanakijiji, who have seen the light, reach the 40 Million People still in the darkness and open their eyes to see the light?.

Tarime was an exceptional case, what I saw in Mbeya Vijijini, Busanda and Biharamulo, we still have a long way to go before reaching the destination we desire, ndio maana bado nasisitiza, not this year, but safari ni hatua, na tuianze safari.

Yes I a part of it at heart, because I know the games people play, I don't wanna play but I promise to support the players the best I can with my abilities and resources.

"Together we can bring the changes we can belive in!".
    Mungu Ibariki Tanzania.

    Happy New Year-Pasco.

Lazima mtambue kuwa the current regime will want to remain in power at any cost.

Kupigania haki yao at any cost.

Lazima wajoin forces na wengine and stand as one such that together we can.

    .
Give me a break!, I have nothing in common with no one!.

Together we can bring Change we Belive in!
    Pasco.

Asante PJ, very practical, mimi wewe, Mzee Mwanakijiji na wengine wote wenye mwamko ndiyo hiyo asilimia 20% kuna asilimia 80% still in the darkness we need a reaching out strategy to reach them.

Waelimishwe wao ndio wenye power to hire and fire!. Kama wanatendewa visivyo they can fire them.

Badala ya kuwakomboa, wao nchi wanauza kwa wimbo wa maishabora kkwa kila Mtanzania, huku Watanzania walio wengi wanaishi foe less than a $ a day!. Ni kwenye umasikini uliotopea.

Mwaka huu Wanakuja tena mbele yetu kutuomba tena ridhaa yetu, tuwape tena dhamana ya miaka mitano mingine, wanatakiwa watueleze hiyo miaka mitano mitano tuliokuwa tunawapa kila siku, wametufanyia nini, na tukiwapa tena watafanya nini.

Jana JK kashasema kwenye hotuba yake, wenye masikio wamesikia, hakuna jipya. Mzee Mwanakijiji kashauri tuungane tuseme basi, imetosha, jee sisi 20% tufanyeje tuwafikie wale 80% tuwafungue macho nao waone mwanga na kwa pamoja tuenende kwenye mwanga, tuachane na giza na kusema basi!.

    .

Tarime wameweza, Karatu wameweza, Kilimanjaro wameweza, Kigoma wameweza, jee kwingineko wataweza, hivi Dodoma wanaweza kusema hapana wakati hata hizo ofisi za vyama hakuna?. Huko Newala na TanDahimba hata kujua kuwa kuna vyama wingine zaidi ya CCM, hawajui, how do we reach them?. Ndio maana nasema 2010 is too late too little can be done as of now!.

    .

Together we can bring the changes we belive in

Issue iwe tupiganie mabadiliko tunayoyaamini tukiswimama pamoja.

watanzania at the moment wanahitaji a strong leadership; unajua ukifuatilia siasa za JF una mature before your eyes na siasa za nyumbani. JK was not the man of his own in his first term; either kwa kuwa anajielewa wako more powerful kuliko yeye na wenye uwezo wa kumuangusha anytime au ndio analipa fadhila.

The second term of Kikwete will bring out the man. This is also a gamble ni Kikwete yupi atakaetokea yule ambae ana ndoto za changes na kuwa mkali au Kikwetwe ambae ni product wa Siasa za Bongo.

Akija JK ambae ni political ambitous sidhani kama ata behave kama Mkapa kubeba pension strategy kwa manufaa yake on his last term. Hila to expect moto wa hali ya juu na Kesi nyingi kufika mahakamani before ajamaliza na pengine hata kutubadilishia katiba before he makes his exist in 1015.

Na akija JK ambae ni product of his own success ujue we are doomed. Huyu will focus on raising his son's profile and protection by sorrounding him with the right people akijua ndio kinga yake yeye in the future. Na if we think if have seen the worst of him; wait and see after the next election. The man is a coward and lucks the tenacity to make audicious calls. This justifies a man who has never fought a political battle of his own in his career.

So why gamble if there is the chance of bringing Fisadi Lowassa into power i think we should take that chance. Reasons being it seems he is feared and a fearless character among his fellows at the power houses currently.

And also what have we got to loose he can pretty much do anything without holding a senior post in the government; he has got puppets to do so. We might as well give him the chance and see how he would deal with his enemies i believe he will sort CCM in the end and bring social order.

Until then we are just playing games lets face it asilimia kubwa ya watanzania ni wanafiki tu from politicians to the social at least with Lowassa we have a fearless molel.
