    According to these stats, Internet penetration is at 6.7% with Africa accounting for only 3.9% of the world's internet users. Whats more Kenya scores fewer internet users than Sudan. Though we cannot ignore the fact that Sudan's population is higher than Kenya's and that their economy is also larger.

    But hopefully these numbers will shoot higher if the promised reduction in internet access prices materialize eventually.

    The same report claims that China has over 338M users and India has 81M.​

    Zimbabwe pia iko pale aise, a part of it looks like a 'failed state' reunion, lol. I think they should re define some words (like failed state) in the dictionary.

    Hizi bei za Internet, umeme wa mgawo na UFISADI huku mafusadi wakishika nyanja zote za mawasiliano..... tusitegemee kupanda hivi karibuni.

    We all thought with the landing of the fibre optic cables some few months ago, bei ya internet itashuka, but that is yet to be seen. The rural areas (where most of the population is) should access the internet cheaply, lakini hawa wababe wataka ifike tu mijini na isimame hapo.

    Sidhani kama lugha ni tatizo, maana kuna internet sites ambazo zinatumia kiswahili kama Michuzi, Mjengwa na nyinginezo. Nadhani sehemu ya tatizo ni kuwa na simu za mikononi, siku hizi napata barua pepe chache sana nikilinganisha na mwanzoni mwa miaka ya 2000. Siku hizi napata text message zaidi, hivyo kusambaa kwa cell phones kumechangia kiasi kwa Tanzania. Ingawaje hii haina maana kusema kuwa nchi nyingine hazina cell phones

    Tatizo la pili laweza kuwa gharama ya kutumia internet cafes. Nani anaweza kukaa masaa mawili kwenye cafe akisoma gazeti?

    Tatizo la tatu ni speed ndogo ya mtandao. Watu wachache sana wanaweza kuvumilia kungojea gazeti au blog inadownload kwa muda mrefu mpaka unasahau ni kitu gani ulikuwa unajaribu kusoma.

    Tatizo la nne ni mgao wa umeme kwa maoni yangu.

    ...mkuu only 15% ya wananchi ndio wanapata umeme tena wa mgao mgao,sasa internet si itakuwa balaa,tungekazania umeme sana maana ndio engine ya kila kitu kuanzia viwanda,education,kilimo,mawasiliano i mean kila kitu kinategemea umeme,wafikishie umeme wananchi utashangaa maendeleo yatakayopatikana kwa haraka!

    Hizi data zimekaa kinamna (siyo sceintific comparison). Yaani unahesabu moje, mbili hadi milioni 11.0 halafu unasema Nigeria ni ya pili kwa kutumia internet! Walinganishe % ya pop na utakuta Nigeria itakuwa hata nje ya top ten
