Hi all, this thread is specifically for the purpose of spreading as well as preserving the legacy of the late 2Pac Shakur, who to me was and still is the greatest poet, activist, actor, singer, rapper, etc. ever in this planet.

Please contribute in terms of; how do you know him, what do you like about him, what were the quotes that inspired you, what are his gratest songs, latest news, etc. so that we keep his music alive generation by generation.

Leo hii katika pita pita zangu mitandaoni nimekutana na habari ambayo nikaona si vibaya kuwashirikisha,kwani naamini kwa namna moja au nyingine inamuhusu kila mmoja wetu,iwe ni mashabiki wa muziki wa hip hop ,au mashabiki wa msanii huyu,na hata ambao hawamjui, kwani kuna jambo kubwa la kujifunza hapa.

Imezoeleka kusikika Mara nyingi chini kwetu, na hata sehemu nyingine ulimwenguni kuwa mtu anapokuwa anakaribia kukata roho iwe ni kutokana na kuumwa kwa muda mrefu,ajali,na hata kwa kuugua ghafla hutoa kauli yake ya mwisho kwa waliomzunguka ambayo mara nyingi huwa ni maneno yenye busara yanayoambatana na ujumbe mzito kwa watu wake wa karibu ambao anajua anawaacha duniani, na hata wengine huenda mbali zaidi kwa kuomba msamaha wa dhambi kwa Mola wao,au na hata kwa wale wote waliowakosea,huku wakiamini kwa kufanya hivyo kuilingana na imani yake,basi anajiandalia mazingira mazuri ya maisha baada ya kifo,na kujiepusha na aibu ya milele(Jehanum).
Lakini mambo yanakuwa tofauti na wengi tulivyotarajia kusikia kwa msanii Tupac Omar Shakur.

Kama mtakumbuka vizuri Mmarekani mweusi Tupac Shakur aliyekuwa gwiji wa muziki wa hip hop nchini Marekani ambaye alifariki dunia mnamo tarehe 13 Septemba,1996, siku sita baada ya kupigwa risasi Jijini Los angels, Nevada Marekani akiwa anatoka kuangalia mpambano wa masubwi wa Mike Tyson, akiwa na bodyguard wake pamoja na aliyekuwa CEO wa Death Row Records, Surge Knight.

Baada ya watu wasiojulikana kumimina risasi katika gari la Tupac na kutoweka na gari kusikojulikana kutoka eneo la tukio, polisi mmoja aliyefahamika kwa jina moja la Carroll alikuwa wa kwanza kufika eneo la tukio, ambapo aliweza kufungua malango na kumtoa Tupac ambaye alikuwa ametapakaa damu mwili mzima baada ya kupigwa risasi nyingi,huku Suge Knight naye akiwa amepata kiwewe baada ya kujeruhiwa naye kichwani, alianza kumzongazonga polisi huyo ambaye alikuwa akijaribu kumsaidia Tupac ambaye alikuwa kwenye hali mbaya zaidi.

Polisi huyo aliyekuwa akijaribu kupata ushirikiano kutoka kwa Pac alimuuliza kuwa kama anafahamu nani aliyempiga risasi, Ndipo Tupac aliyekuwa akipumua kwa shida,aliposhusha pumzi nzito,huku akimwangalia machoni Carroll,na kufungua kinywa chake ambapo alitoa maneno yanayosemekana ndio yaliyokuwa kauli yake ya mwisho kabla ya kupoteza fahamu.

Mane no yenyewe ni "F**K YOU". Hadi umauti unamkuta hospitalini,siku sita tokea tarehe 7 Septemba,1996,jamaa hakuweza kufungua kinywa chake tena kwani alikuwa kwenye deep coma.

2Pac was misunderstood, just like Malcolm. When you refuse to compromise you will be hated even by your own people. Most of our own people would rather play it small so other people would feel comfortable around them, and I don't like that a bit. Remember this poem, and I think 2Pac used part of it in one of his song.

I remember listening to 'Changes' everyday earlier during the Obama campaign before most people noticed similarity in their message. Even that line 'although it seems heaven sent/we aint ready to have a black president' inspired Nas' song 'Black President' and Keyshia Cole's 'Heaven Sent'. Not to get out of topic, but time will tell if 2Pac was right or wrong on that line because as far as I can see, Obama is likely going to be a one-term president.

By the way, I recommend every 2Pac fan to go watch Tupac Assassination: Conspiracy Or Revenge, I guarantee you you'll love it, especially from half-way through the documentary.....not like that mainstream, safe, Tupac-Ressurection movie.

Keynez, I would rate your understanding of 2Pac highly, some one said his time has passed and I told him/her that his songs are current if at all one is "listening" rather than "hearing"

Thanks for the poem, by the way I have seen it before but I do not recall it being among his songs.
