2012 African Cup of Nations.

To me SENEGAL, here is their squad that tells more...

Goalkeepers: Khadim Ndiaye (ASC Linguere), Bouna Coundoul (New York Red Bulls, USA), Pape Latyr Ndiaye (Ouakam)
Defenders: Kader Mangane (Rennes, France), Souleymane Diawara (Marseille, France), Lamine Sané (Bordeaux, France), Jacques Faty (Sivasspor, Turkey), Moustapha Bayal Sall (St Etienne, France), Pape Malickou Diakhaté (Granada, Spain) , Cheikh Mbengue (Toulouse, France), Armand Traoré (QPR, England), Omar Daff (Brest, France)
Midfielders: Rémi Gomis (Valenciennes, France) , Mouhamed Diamé ( Wigan, England), Guirane N'Daw (Birmingham City, England) , Ndiaye Dème Ndiaye (Arles-Avignon, France)
Forward: Issiar Dia ( Fenerbahce, Turkey), Moussa Sow (Lille, France), Papiss Demba Cissé (Freiburg, Germany), Souleymane Camara (Montpelier, France), Mamadou Niang (Al Sadd, Qatar), Demba Ba (Newcastle United, England), Dame N'Doye (FC Copenhagen, Denmark).

SENAGAL will win mark my words

History: Previous appearances were in 1965, 1968, 1970, 1974, 1980, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1990, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2010 with their best performance being in 1992 when they lifted the trophy.

How They Qualified For AFCON 2012: They qualified as Group H winner. Pitted up against Benin, Burundi and Rwanda in Afcon qualification in Group H, Cote D’Ivoire won all of their games to collect a total of 18 points, with 19 goals scored and only four conceded during the campaign. The Elephants sealed their qualification early on in the fourth round, easily clinching top spot in the group.

Coach: The Elephants are coached by Francoi Zaahoui. The 49-year-old former Cote D’Ivoire international, who succeeded Sven-Goran Eriksson, began his tenure by leading the Elephants to a 1-0 friendly win over Italy in London in August 2010. But he has yet to really prove whether he is the man behind the team’s recent successes, or if the star players are the main influence.

Squad
Goalkeepers: Copa Barry (Beveren, Belgium), Gérard Gnanhouan (Avranches, France) Daniel Yeboah (Dijon, France)
Defenders: Kolo Toure (Manchester City, England), Didier Zokora (Trabzonspor, Turkey) Sol Bamba (Leicester City, England), Benjamin Angoua (Valenciennes, France), Lolo Igor (Kuban Krasnodar, Russia) Emmanuel Eboué (Galatasaray, Turkey), Boka Athur (Stuttgart, Germany), Siaka Tiéné (PSG, France).
Midfielders: Yaya Touré (Manchester City, England, Tioté Cheick (Newcastle, England), Jean Jacques Gosso Gosso (Orduspor, Turkey), Kafoumba Coulibaly (Nice, France), Max Gradel (Sainte Etienne, France), Ya Konan (Hannover, Germany)
Attackers: Didier Drogba (Chelsea, England), Salomon Kalou (Chelsea, England), Seydou Doumbia (CSKA Moscow), Gervinho (Arsenal, England), Bony Wilfried (Vitesse, Netherlands), Kader Kéïta (Al Sadd, Qatar)

Captain: Didier Drogba is captain of the team. After helping the Elephants to their first World Cup finals appearance in 2006, Drogba remains the team’s top scorer with 50 strikes, but he owes the Ivorian people one thing – an AFCON title. . .and with the nation’s best generation of footballers built around him, 2012 is another opportunity to deliver.

Star Player: Gervinho has emerged to embody hope and optimism for Ivorian football, thanks to his consistent goal-scoring form and immaculate assists. The Arsenal forward will likely be a thorn in the flesh of many teams during the 2012 showpiece if he’s ignored in favour of Drogba, as has often happened in the past.

Young Talent: Seydou Doumbia is the most promising young player in the squad. The joint second top scorer in the 2011-12 group stages of the Uefa Champions League and the leading marksman in the Russian top flight, the CSKA Moscow rising star has evinced much deftness in front of goal across his clubs, totalling 50 goals within two seasons at Young Boys and 24 already at CSKA. His speed, strength and bullet strikes are reminiscent of Drogba's qualities.

Probable Starting XI: Cote D’Ivoire adhere to the 4-3-3 formation, with much focus on the attacking line manned by Drogba and flanked by Kalou and Gervinho, with Doumbia on standby. Yaya and Zokora control the midfield to win as many balls as possible, while Kolo, Boka and Siaka are there to safeguard the backline.

(4-3-3)

AFCON History: Previous Appearances were in 1957, 1959, 1963, 1970, 1972, 1976, 2008 and their best performance was a winner's medal in 1970.

How They Qualified For AFCON 2012: The crocodiles qualified as Group I best runners-up. The team qualified for the prestigious tournament after suffering only a single defeat to Ghana in the last round of qualifiers. Sudan finished second and were one of the two teams picked as the best runners-up, along with Libya. They will be the only east African representatives at the tournament.

Coach: Gaffer of the side is Mohammed Ahmed Abdalla. He took over the Sudan national team in 2008. He was replaced by Stephen Constantine in February 2009. Constantine left the team in January 2010 after they failed to qualify for the 2010 World Cup, citing personal reasons. Abdalla took over the post once again and has remained Sudan coach ever since.

Squad
Goalkeepers: Akram Al Hadi (Al Merreikh), Bhaldien Mohammed (Al Merreikh), Mouez Mohjob (Al Hilal)
Defenders: Ngemaldien Abdullah (Al Merreikh), Khaliefa Ahmed (Al Hilal), Siefaldien Ali (Al Hilal), Ahmed Al Basha (Al Merreikh), Mowaia Bashir (Ittihad Madani), Bala Jaber (Al Merreikh), Mosab Omar (Al Merreikh)
Midfielders: Mohammed Ahmed Bashir (Al Hilal), Baderaldien Aldoud (Al Merreikh), Mohamed Al Tahir (Al Hilal), Nazer Hamed (Al Hilal), Amier Kamal (Al Merreikh),

Attackers: Ramadan Alagab (Al Mourada), Abdulrahman Hassan (Al Merreikh), Eltaib Mudather (Al Hilal), Mohammed Sheikh Eldin (Al Hasahesa)

Captain: The team will be led onto the pitch by Haitham Mustafa. The Al Hilal midfielder has proven to be vital for his national team. He has inspired his side to wins that have earned them continental and regional glory. He is one of the most experienced players in the squad and featured prominently at club level in the CAF Champions League this year.

Star Player: Stound-out player of the side is Haitham *****l. He plies his trade in Al Merreikh and is the Sudan national team's all-time top scorer. He has scored 26 goals in over 70 appearances for his country. His work in attack will be important for the team and he is likely to find a great deal of responsibility resting squarely on his shoulders.

Young Talent: Most promising young player of Sudan is Bakri Almadina. The player has been remarkable for the Nile Crocodiles. He is adept at creating goals for his teammates and with every touch of the ball he shows incredible chemistry with the lethal midfield duo made up of Haitham Mustafa and Mohammed Ahmed Bisha, both of Al Hilal.

Probable Starting XI: The Nile Crocodiles rely on Omer between the posts, while strikers Mudathir and Tambal will be the focal point of the team, with a 4-4-2 formation aiming to create balance throughout the pitch, while supporting the experienced attack.

AFCON History: Previous Appearances were in 1996, 1998, 2006, 2008, 2010 with their best performance was making it to the Quarter-finals in 2008 & 2010.

How They Qualified For AFCON 2012: They qualified as Group J Winners. The Palancas Negras did not allow their 3-0 defeat against Uganda in the opener of their qualifying campaign to dash their hopes. The 2010 AFCON hosts picked themselves up against Guinea-Bissau in their second game, but lost again in their third match to eastern African side Kenya. In the final round, the Black Antelopes recorded a clean sheet against all three opponents to top the group on 12 points to qualify.

Coach: The side is handled by Lito Vidigal. The former Angola defender is the fourth coach of the national team in the last 15 months. The 41-year-old has vast experience in Europe and he is the first African international to coach a European first division club. He spent most of his football and coaching career in Portugal. The former coach of Uniao Leiria has passed his first test, qualifying his side to the tournament finals and he is expected to shine in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Squad
Goalkeepers: Carlos (unattached), Hugo (Kabuscorp), Wilson (Primeiro Agosto)
Defenders: Amaro (Primeiro Agosto), Dani Massunguna (Primeiro Agosto), Kali (Primeiro Agosto), Marco Airosa (AEL Limassol, Cyprus), Mingo Bille (Primeiro Agosto), Zuela (Atromitos, Greece)
Midfielders: Andre Makanga (Al Jahra, Kuwait), Dede (AEL Limassol, Cyprus), Gilberto (Lierse, Belgium), Mabina, Miguel (both Petro Atletico), Osorio (Recreativo Caala), Xara (Petro Atletico)
Forwards: Djalma (FC Porto, Portugal), Flavio (Lierse, Belgium), Jose Pierre Vunguidica (Preussen Munster, Germany), Love (Petro Atletico), Manucho (Real Valladolid, Spain), Mateus Galiano (Nacional, Portugal), Nando Rafael (FC Augsburg, Germany)

Captain: The team is captained by Andre Macanga. The 33-year-old has been with the team since 1999 and was part of the squad that represented the oil-rich country at the World Cup in Germany 2006. His nickname 'The Defensive Lung' is a good description of a player who wards off his opponents to ensure that his goal is clear of danger. He comes with a great deal of experience and more will be expected from him.

Star Player: Stand-out player of the squad is Manucho. The 28-year-old has been immense throughout the qualifying campaign and scored four of their seven goals. Manucho is not new to the tournament and is well known for scoring spectacular goals in the 2008 and 2010 editions. During his days at Manchester United, coach Sir Alex Ferguson described him as a "tall, agile, quick forward".

Young Talent: Djalma is the shinning new light of the Palanca Negras. The 24-year-old has featured in most of the games leading up to the AFCON finals in 2012. The Porto striker has been a perfect partner to Manucho in attack and could be a candidate for Young Player of the Tournament.

Probable Starting XI
: Lito Vidigal could opt in for the customary 4-4-2 formation, which seems to have worked well for the team in the past, relying on Manucho and Djalma to score with support from a packed midfield.

AFCON Histroy: Previous Appearances were in 1978, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2010 with their best performance being a fourth place finish in 1998

How They Qualified For AFCON 2012: Burkina Faso emerged as Group F Winners and qualified for the tournament as one of the 11 first-placed teams. The nation's group was the only one with three nations involved after Mauritania pulled out, and it beat Gambia and Namibia to the top spot with 10 points from four games.

Coach: Gaffer of the side is Paulo Duarte. The Portuguese coach took charge of the Burkinabe in 2008, and guided the team to the 2010 AFCON finals in Angola, where a loss and a draw saw the Stallions crash out in the group stages. The 42-year-old manager was once coached by Jose Mourinho during his playing days at Leiria in Portugal.

Squad
Goalkeepers: Daouda Diakite (Turnhout), Moussa Sanou (St Etienne), Adama Sawadogo (Missile FC)
Defenders: Ibrahim Gnanou (Vladikavkaz), Bakary Kone (Lyon), Paul Koulibaly (Charleroi), Saidou Panandetiguiri (Valletta), Mamadou Tall (Persepolis)
Midfielders: Wilfried Balima (Sheriff Tiraspol), Charles Kabore (Marseille), Mahamadou Kere (Konyaspor), Mohamed Koffi (Petrojet), Djakaridja Kone (Dynamo), Jonathan Pitroipa (Stades Rennes), Florent Rouamba (Sheriff Tiraspol), Bertrand Traore (Chelsea)

Captain: Skipper of the side is Mahamoudou Kere. He is a center back who plays his club football in Turkey with Konyaspor, following over a decade spent in Belgium with Charleroi. He took part in the 2004 and 2010 AFCON competition with his national team, and has amassed over 40 international caps for the Stallions.

Star Player: Moumouni Dagano is the star of the stallions. He made his international debut in 1999 aged 18 and has since been an important striker for his national team, with over 20 goals to his credit with the Stallions. The Al-Khor (Qatar) attacker was the joint top goalscorer of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign with 12 goals, along with Fijian striker Osea Vakatalesau. He is experienced, having played in the 2004 and 2010 AFCON competitions.

Young Talent: Alain Traore is the most promising young talent of the team. The young starlet has had an impressive run this season with Auxerre, and after only nine matches, he had already found the net six times for his Ligue 1 side. The 22-year-old admitted to interest from Manchester United, but with a good head on his shoulders, he decided to play on for the French side and work his way towards a bigger European team when the time is right.

Probable Starting XI: The Stallions are known to be an attacking side, using the speed of players like Pitroipa, Alain Traore and Dagano up front, while defensive midfielders Koffi and Rouamba keep opponents at bay in the middle of the park and win the ball for their strikers. Captain Kere leads by example and marshals the defense.

Kama Ghana wana kikosi kile kile cha world cup, basi naweza kukubaliana na wewe.

Kile kikosi kingeweza kabisa kubeba kombe, halafu Essien hata hakuwepo.

Halafu mbona Ivory Coast wana kikosi safi sana halafu hawako projected?
