Ok, now I am officially pissed. Kenya and Tanzania use the same SEACOM cables etc... Kenya now has a service delivering the following.
    http://www.zuku.co.ke/fibre/broadband/

1Mb Unlimited Internet for Ksh 1000 or Tsh 20,000

4Mb Unlimited Internet for Ksh 2000 or Tsh 40,000

For comparison TTCL offers the FAKE 1Mbs unlimited which really is 350Kbs for Tsh 110,000

I mean come on, this is nonsense. And then TTCL goes around saying they are bankrupt. Of course, they have no clue how to run a company. They treat internet like a cash cow with a few customers. When they could have a mega-business with many customers.

Yaakhe mbona internet Kenya iko ghali kiasi hicho!.
Nakumbuka TTCL Tanzania inatoa mfano 2GB kwa 30,000 tu.Wale wanaoangalia vidio tu ndio wanaozimaliza kwa mwezi.
    Nijuavyo 1gb =1000mb.Jee nimepatia?.

Hapo mkuu unaongelea vitu viwili tofauti.

Need to say more.

Good point, I forgot to say all the numbers were the price per month. To drive the point home.

If you use 1Mbs for 2 hours a day for a month that is 7.5GB. Get the picture!

    Akwaba,

Economics of scale.

The East African:  - News |Tanzania seeks science and maths teachers from EA to bridge shortfall

According to the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training statistics, Tanzania secondary school gross enrolment rates stand at five per cent while Kenya stands at 26 per cent, Uganda 12 per cent, Zambia 28 per cent and Zimbabwe 44 per cent.

Unaweza kuziona kwenye internet. Mojawapo ya tafiti hizo ni hii hapa:

Hispanics lag behind in internet usage, study says - CNN

    Nanukuu kutoka huo utafiti:

Hispanics in the United States are less likely than whites to access the internet, have a home broadband connection or own a cell phone, according to a study by the Pew Hispanic Center released Wednesday.
The study found that differences in educational level and income are likely behind the digital gap, as the divide in most cases disappears when adjusted for those two factors.

While about two-thirds of Hispanic and African-American adults went online in 2010, more than three-fourths of white adults did so, the study found. As for broadband use at home, the gap between Hispanics and whites is significant, the study says.
"The difference in internet use between Hispanics and whites is driven in part by the fact that Hispanics tend to have less education and lower incomes than whites," study author Gretchen Livingston wrote. "When education or income are controlled for, the ethnic differences in internet use disappear."

Nadhani TTCL wanabeba lawama ambazo sio zao wakati wengine, serikali inabidi ihakikishe umeme unapatikana, fiber inajengwa ndani ya nchi, elimu bora etc.
