Default Kenya's Mil Mi-28 Havoc Attack Helicopters

hi guys hope you are all well. i just started this thread about Kenya's acquisition of the world deadliest attack helicopters that was made in February. initial delivery was of 16 of these dreaded helicopters and rumor mill or grapevine has it that another 27 have been requested for by the Kenya air force to be delivered by spring of 2013. all the aircraft have been assembled locally(according to word on street) as is the case with helicopters acquired for use in the region. the local Kenyan helicopter assembler is the same one assembling for the Kenya police air wing helicopters. the aircraft will be used by the 50 air battalion based at embakasi according to intelligence news and other sources.

1)i have a few issues regarding especially the local assembly of this most sophisticated helicopters bearing in mind the recent crash of the police copter that Killed Hon. saitoti and Hon. Ojode R.I.P . how capable is this local assembler in terms of his skills, technology, equipment, skilled manpower and resources bearing in mind these are not civilian helicopter but battle sophisticated ones??

2)Also bearing in mind Kenya is the only country in Africa to acquire these state of the art weaponry and only the second in the southern hemisphere and the fourth in the world after Russia,India and Venezuela, will this make Kenya air superiority extend further from traditional east africa to other regions like southern africa, and is kenya willing to flex its military power to southern africa and north africa?

      3) it is a fact that if kenya ca n be able to increase its aquistion and skills of this helicopter then no other country in africa has the capability to challenge it bearing i mind south africa top attack helicopter the Rooivalk is no match for the mil mi 28

Dont pretend you know alot about Kenya. KWS assembles her copters from within. what makes you think the military cant? Infact they have an upper hand in these kind of stuffs.

Thats what you believe but its the plain truth, helicopters are imported as knocked down kits and assembled locally

What holds you wtz back is your inability to have self-belief, a very thinly veiled self-loathe of things African.

How else would you explain that Tanzania today has the most vibrant and largest population of Boers outside South Africa in Arusha!

That Tanzania issues Work-Permits for Boers Cooks at the level that Kenya become self-sufficient in the Seventies!

That huge swathes of arable land are leased out to white South Africans to farm them as viable economic entities, as if the Tanzanians themselves have ingrained inabilities to do the same.

Because wtz dare not believe in themselves as a Nation, they dismiss Kenyan's evident self-belief as incompetent arrogance! Eeish.

Those Havocs are assembled in Kenya, and that is not an impossible undertaking for the African, not even for you Tanzanians, bana!!

Mambo mengine bwana! Kwani nani kasema jet fighters, chopper gunships etc zinaletwa ziko fully assembled kutoka URUSI, MERIKANI,Brazil etc?

ingawa hua napingana sana na hii propaganda machine ya kenya, lakini kuhusu assembling ya choppers na fighters, every military does that.., hua zinabebwa kwenye containers za mbao then zinakua assembled locally..., na kama fighter au chopper ni very advanced technologically, manufacturing country hutuma experts to assemble it at the same time transfering knowledge to the buyer...,

Mm ningependa niwa-congratulate makamanda wa kenya kwa kuweka ufisadi pembeni na kuboresha jeshi lao, though air superiority is nothing if u dont have a formidable, couragous servicemen

Now you agree with sideshows, NKT!
you literaly dont know what you are talking about. One moment you claim Kenya has no assembly capacity, then you accept, then you put a prospestorous claim that KDF speculates her single copter crash on alshabaab. Really? Are u ok Mr! Have one line of arguement and build it coherently. KDF has only lost one copter in theater wz-9 and its blamed on mechanical failure and not alshabaab.
KDF/KWS assembles all her copters in Kenya (read links provided by Dhuks and me)...KDF does it more discreetly for security purposes and secrecy. I would want to know more about JWTZ but you lack the air calvary unit in your formations..a sensible one for that matter: perhaps its nowonder assembly of these crafts is a rocket science discipline to you. Again; KWS heli yards serve the East and Central Africa.

not really, most of the aeroframes acquired offlate come from the Eastern hemisphere. However bilateral military exchanges with the WEST (Britain/USA/Israel) still form the basis of KDF training manuals and formations with some editing to suit KDF. Some aiframes frome these regions coming through soon.
