My friend, this is a road TO Mara, not a road THROUGH...there's a difference

I know the area well and the argument that animals will be affected by construction applies the same way.

On the road to Sekenani you pass wild animals and tourist camps on both sides of the road. The same animals that will cross the Sekenani tarmac road and head towards narosora group ranches (which also have tourist camps) are the same animals that will cross the Serengeti.

Also note that the road is not through Serengeti. It is two roads, one from Arusha to Serengeti and the other is from Musoma to Serengeti. OR which people do you want to deny ability to go to Serengeti park and Loliondo town? is it the people of Musoma or the people of Arusha? The tourists come from their developed tarmac roads in their countries and come to the developed tarmac road of the Mara in Kenya to stare and be entertained by animals nurtured and protected by over 300,000 people of Mara Tanzania who have no rights. To please who? The tourist? Kenya? or the wildebeest? Definitely not tanzania.

Probably not. The biggest hypocrisy is that almost everyone was critical of a road traversing Serengeti but nobody was willing to put money for an alternative. Tanzania needed a road to address part of its populace problems but i think its stupid to oppose it and do nothing about those concerns. If the lobbies feel the road would have adverse effects on the migration why cant they make the same noise they made then in lobbying for dollars to build the same road either underground, above ground or alternative route?

If you want to experience one of the worst road ever on earth. Try moving from serengeti via oldonyo lengai to arusha. Its a very rough route.Very few vehicles can make it.This is what the 300,000 people of mara have to pass through to get to Arusha for supplies, if they do not go through ngoro ngoro. These people are doomed to be poor and will never develop because of that road. Whoever says that they should not get a tarmac road just to please wildebeests is so inhuman and when he dies he will resurrect as a wildebeest.
