KAA releases tenders for new Jomo Kenyatta Airport terminal
Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has issued tenders for the construction of a $500m terminal complex, Greenfield Terminal, at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya.
More than 100 local and multinational firms have bought tender documents for the project.
The new terminal, which is to be operational by 2014, will have 50 check-in counters, eight air bridges for aircraft to dock, 45 aircraft parking stands on the linked apron space and an additional runway.
The Greenfield Terminal is expected to handle 20 million passengers a year and forms part of Kenya's Vision 2030 project, which also covers the construction of the $19bn Lamu Port.
KAA will open tenders in October 2011, while groundbreaking for the new terminal is expected in January 2012,
