Wadau, katika utawala wa Nyerere fedha zilizokuwa kwenye mzunguko nchini zilikuwa backed up na GOLD RESERVE pale benki kuu. Hii ilimanisha kuwa kama kwenye mzunguko kulikuwa na trioni 10 basi benki kuu palikuwa na dhahabu yenye thamani kama hiyo.

Baada ya mageuzi ya uchumi ya kuanzia kwa Mzee Mwinyi na baadaye Mkapa tuliondoka kwenye GOLD based currency na kuanza mfumo wa PAPER MONEY ambao maana yake ni kwamba benki kuu inaweza ku-print fedha kadri ya mahitaji ya serikali na hii ni mojawapo ya sababu ya fedha kupoteza thamani.

Naomba kuuliza kama kuna mtu anajua hii reserve iliuzwa lini? na kama haijauzwa mpaka sasa tuna dhahabu za thamani gani pale BOT??

Though am not an ecomnomist i can conclude that we have short sighted manager and leader in our critical institutions.People with no strategic vision. Just making strategic decsion sighting three or 12 months

Yes u can see whet we tanzanian are made of in enegery . 40 MGW , 20MGW. it all a a minister and parlaiment can discuss for one year. shame to say that to have 100 MGW we need another richmond .

I am surprised that Prof Ndulu claims that the price of gold is unstable. Is he the only national banker who thinks that way? All other countries seem to think otherwise. And who has the final say on the matter: the BOT Governor or parliament?

I have just said its a a problem of selecting middle manager leaders in a strategic position. I once wrote a thread about decision making making. Our institions depend on people brain instead of depending on the process.

Ndulu, Tibaijuka or whom ever can perform better in international institutuon not becuse they are best its because those insititution have the right processes, procudures and tools to help people make sound infomrmed decision

This word we are living is so complex and upredictable. No matter how many distinctions one had in univerisity or whether he worked at IMF and Word bank , decision of critical matter need to be a scientific and technolgical process. Some instiuition and countries have something called decsion support system ( DSS)

A computer system wich when input with right data , scenario and projections it help managers make informed decision.
