Default Another Day in "Kyerefaso"? The Land not Named

It is a another day in the land not named. A day like any other day; with its tears and laughter, with its drama and twists and yes another day with its politics and rhetoric. In this land - not named - the one I told you about months ago- things seems to be excitingly the same! The same people, talking about the same things, promising new things (which when looked closely are just a different version of the same things they promised years back!) and the same people getting excited the same way they were excited years back!

This land - not named - is in serious trouble! Its political leaders are morally corrupt, the intellectual elite muted, and the best of its critics compromised- I don't know if you could still call them "best of its critics!" The best thing about the people of this land they know a lot and they talk a lot about what they know. They know that their land is being plundered left and right; its resources squandered and its human potential rendered impotent. They know the elected the corrupt ruling elite not by accident but mostly because they didn't want the other "guys" to take power because they say - in the land not named - the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know! So, they elect the devil! and when the devil - which they rationally argued for his election - start acting like a devil the same people wish that they had angels!! Go figure!

It is getting more dire in this land. Now, in this land there is a criminal gang running the country, compromising its internal security organs, and with such impunity - of which we have never seen before - this criminal gang is ready and willing to kidnap, torture even murder those the powers that be believe are dangerous to the rulers! The corrupt ruling elite has been punched to the ropes and now it is fighting back mercilessly and violently! The poor citizens of this land - still not named - have seen the confluence of despair and fear coupled with the sense of losing the grip of power of those in power. The poor don't know what to do anymore, who to turn to and even don't know what to say. I mean what can the poor people of the rugged streets and impoverished neighborhood of this land say to the self-glorifying demagogs of this land!

This land needs its heroes. It needs people who would gallantly challenge the power that be, rejecting its flawed propositions, denouncing its actions and when necessary pushing the corrupt ruling elite to collapsed in its own weight of corruption, incompetence and mediocrity. These heroes I can tell you will rise, some have already stood up and they have been counted. Some have paid a price with their blood; others with their lives. And it seems so clear now that in this land not named, more blood shall be shed at the hands of the corrupt ruling elite.

If there were to be any change at the top of the governing system then the people who want change should support their heroes. Yes, heroes need support. They should encourage them, defend them, protect them and indeed do every thing possible to ensure that their heroes have another day to fight. Oh yes, every nation needs heroes, every society wants heroes. In this land - not named yet - heroes come, and they get beat! The rulers will not spare them, not in the media, not in public, not anywhere else. If there is a way to shut the people heroes down, they will do so in a heartbeat! But heroes don't quit, heroes never surrender, yes heroes always look for more trouble

They promise to give the ruling corrupt elite a good portion of trouble; double trouble for a good measure.

Because it is just another day in the land not named...

I guess that land is not in Tanzania; if I am wrong then I must be smarter than the rulers of Tanzania.
