      Hi forum members. I would like to know if biology is taught in swahili in Tanzania at secondary level. Which books are used?

      Currently, biology subject at ordinary and advanced levels in tanzania is taught in english language only.

      We sio Mtanzania?
      Kwa shule za serikali Tanzania, Darasa la kwanza (Stardard 1) Mpaka la saba (Standard 7) kinatumika Kiswahili kwa masomo yote isipokuwa kiingerza tu,
      Sekondari, kidato cha kwanza (form 1) mpaka kidato cha sita (Form six) kinatumika kiingereza

      kumbuka: huo ni mtaala wa serikali

      up to this month biology was taught in English in Tanzania's secondary schools..

      ahsanteni nyote mlio changia. Mi ni mwalimu wa biologia Kenya. Kuna wakati huwa ninahitaji kuelezea wanafunzi wanafunzi hoja fulani kwa lugha ya kiswahili.

      So far as navyojua teminologies nyingi za kisayansi zilizotumika kwenye biology na masomo mengine ya science ni za kilatini ambazo si kiswahili wala lugha nyingine inayofaa kuelezea kwa kwa ufasaha bila kuchakachua maana halisi ya wanazuoni walioasisi somo husika..nionavyo tumia tu utaalamu na mbinu mbadala za ufundishaji ili vijana wakuelewe badala ya kuwajazia misamiati fikirishi ambayo hailandani na sarufi iliyopo ya kiswahili..natoa hoja!

      Ni vigumu sana kuchakachua misamiati ya kisayansi kwenda kiswahili. Kwani kiswahili kina upungufu sana wa misamiati. Hata hivo kama tatizo ni kuwaelewesha wengine, just mix english na kiswahil or use english onlyi wataelewa
